Split Fiction introduces Mio and Zoe, our dual-protagonists, in the intro level of Split Fiction called Rader Publishing. After a botched attempt at getting Mio inside one of the machine pods, she accidentally falls inside Zoe's pod, clashing her science fiction ideas with Zoe's fantasy story beats. The game lets players experience the story ideas of both of the protagonists while unraveling the nefarious schemes of the company.

Freedom Fighters
Once the level starts, move across the facility by jumping, climbing, and wall-running through various obstacles. There's a console at the end that both Mio and Zoe will need to use to activate the lift.
After reaching the top, a ship will crash onto the platform, opening a path forward. Follow the path while making your way through moving metal blocks, narrow beams, and rotating pods.
You'll eventually arrive at a large laser turbine with a control panel on its left. One of the players will need to interact and hold down the switch to reveal gaps in the laser fins. This will allow the other player time their grappling hook and reach the other side. Once a player makes their way to the other side of the turbine, the turbine will break down, allowing the one holding on to the switch to pass through.
After progressing further, players will need to walk on two narrow rails leading up to switches at the end. Both switches need to be activated to open the hatch in the front.
Use the grappling hook to head into the opened hatch and make your way through the corridor until you arrive at some poles to climb. After climbing over the first few poles, you'll need to make your way across the constantly moving piston-like poles ahead. First, understand the movement pattern of the pistons and then time your jumps right to make it across.
You'll arrive at the exterior of the facility with a console at the end. Both players will have to activate the switch multiple times once the white block reaches the center to activate the console.
After activating the console, you'll be targeted by laser beams from the ships in the sky. Use dodges to avoid getting hit until the platform underneath gets destroyed. Once the platform is destroyed, you'll need to dive into the pool below and make your way back into the facility.
You'll now enter a room with hydraulic crushers lined up in front. Identify their crushing pattern and use a combination of jumps and dashes to grapple your way to the other side.
After reaching further into the facility, Zoe and Mio will open a double door that will lead to the building's exterior, with an attack ship targeting them both. Carefully make your way across the hail of bullets and dropping platforms to reach the end and grapple onto the attacking ship.
After both players grapple onto the ship, it'll fly off, and now Mio will be in the driver's seat while Zoe will fend off enemy ships using the Gatling Gun on top. After safely making their way through the sandstorm, Zoe and Mio will interact with a glitch that will take them into the fantasy section of the level.
Brave Knights
Once players arrive in the fantasy setting of level 1 Rader Publishing in Split Fiction, they'll be greeted with a hoard of Ogres. This will begin the chase sequence, where you'll have to run through the level.
After eventually arriving at a slope, you'll need to ascend it while carefully avoiding the falling barrels from the top.
After making it over the slope, you'll enter a wooden life that will be shot down, starting another chase sequence with the ogres. Players will eventually run over a bridge and fall into the pool below.
Keep swimming forward and watch the ogres going past you and hitting the wooden boards. They'll hit and break the wooden boards, making a hole for you to swim through.
Towards the end of the pool section, players will get sucked into a hole and arrive inside a windmill. Make your way over the stacked boxes on the left and get on top of the platform with the windmill's mechanism.
Use the pole inside the rotating mechanism to start climbing it. You'll need to carefully ascend the mechanism and avoid hitting the spinning gears inside. After reaching the top, you'll simply leap off the tower and into a haystack below (remind me where you've seen this before).
After going through a gap, you'll arrive at an open field with two ogres in the middle. If one of the ogres spots you, it's an instant death by a rock. So, to go past the ogres, the player on the right will have to distract the ogre first, allowing the player on the left to move past the first gap.
Next, the player on the left will have to do the same and distract the ogre to allow the player on the right to pass through the gap and reach safety. Now, a player on the right can safely move on to the next area as the ogre already has its back turned.
After making it through the area, players will arrive at a huge gathering of ogres holding flags. Each player has to hop carefully over the flagpoles to reach the other side of the area. Feel free to jump over the wooden shacks to get your bearings, then continue jumping over the poles and reach the end.
On the other side, there's a box that both players will need to push to reach the next area.
After pushing the box down, Mio and Zoe will spot the glitch on top of the tower. So, this will begin the last chase sequence of the level one Rader Publishing chapter in Split Fiction. This chase sequence can be a bit tricky as you'll need to climb to the top of the tower while ogres break the wooden beams behind you.
As long as one player makes it to the top, the level will be completed, and players will progress to the second level of Split Fiction.
