All Factions In Splitgate 2 Explained

Aeros

Primary Ability

Passive Ability

Rush: Speed boost to movement, reload, and regen delay

Taskmaster: Faster ability cooldown for you and your teammates

Aeros is definitely the base Faction that many newcomers may gravitate toward, focusing on enhancing the player’s fluidity in combat while also offering perks to both the player and their teammates. Rush is Aeros’ standout ability, boosting movement speed, increasing reload speed, and allowing players to regenerate much faster.

This is especially effective for aggressive players, while also providing a useful way to quickly disengage from a fight and heal up before jumping back in. That’s not all—Aeros also features the Taskmaster passive ability, allowing players to regain access to their abilities much sooner after use.

Aside from their own unique abilities, Aeros have a roster of exclusive weaponry, with standouts including the Tempo fast-firing Assault Rifle, the Cadence semi-auto Carbine, and the Sprinter Submachine Gun. Aeros also have access to the Blitz Shotgun and the Pulse three-round Burst Rifle. In addition to weapons, players can also choose from the following pieces of equipment:

  • Shock Disk: A throwable disk that explodes on impact and stuns enemies
  • Stim Shot: Instantly regenerates health
  • Porta-Portal: Spawns a temporary floating portal

Meridian

Primary Ability

Passive Ability

Hypersight: Briefly reveals enemies through walls for you and your teammates

Wellness: Faster health regeneration for you and your teammates

Next up is Meridian, the Faction that will likely be the go-to for fraggers who want to gain the maximum number of kills possible. The standout feature of Meridian is their activated ability, Hypersight, which emits a pulse that highlights nearby enemy players for both the user and their teammates, essentially allowing them to reveal players through walls.

Meridian also provides passive healing for the user and their teammates through the Wellness passive ability, boosting health regeneration. Where Meridian shines most is in exposing enemy positions, which is sure to come in handy in Arena playlists, as well as being remarkably useful in Battle Royale.

Just like Aeros, Meridian comes with their own roster of weapons, with standouts including the versatile Synapse Assault Rifle, the fast-paced Phasma Submachine Gun, and the Hyperline Carbine. Meridian also has access to the Charger Railgun Shotgun and the four-round-burst-fire Quantum Burst Rifle. For equipment, Meridian players can choose from the following:

  • Time Dome: Within the dome, time is sped up for teammates but slowed for enemies
  • Regen Cloud: A throwable explosive that creates a healing cloud
  • Record Radar: Drops a radar that reveals enemies within range

Sabrask

Primary Ability

Passive Ability

Smart Wall: A transparent barrier that you can shoot through, but the enemy team cannot

Fortitude: Equipment recharges faster for you and your teammates

Sabrask is one of the go-to Factions for players looking to be team players in objective-based gamemodes. The main standout feature of the Sabrask Faction is their Smart Wall ability, which provides a one-way shield that the user and their teammates can fire through, but enemies cannot. This serves as an excellent tool for fortifying objectives in Domination and Hotzone, as well as providing cover in wide open spaces across all modes.

That’s not all—Sabrask also allows players to reduce the cooldown of both their own and their allies' equipment, letting them regain access to gadgets and explosives more quickly. Every team can benefit from having at least one Sabrask, though having one isn't strictly necessary.

On top of unique abilities, Sabrask also has their own roster of weapons. Standouts include the default Trailblazer Assault Rifle, the semi-auto Warden Carbine, and the Rattler SMG. Sabrask also gets access to the Plow pump-action Shotgun and the Jackhammer dual Burst Rifle. In terms of equipment, players can use one of the following:

  • Sticky Grenade: A throwable grenade that sticks to surfaces and explodes after a short fuse time
  • Sandstorm Grenade: A throwable grenade that creates a sand cloud on impact
  • Proximity Mine: Placed down and creates a 360-degree stun radius when enemies come into close proximity

What Is The Best Faction In Splitgate 2?

Meridian Faction - Splitgate 2

All Factions in Splitgate 2 are viable, and players can switch between all three without having to drastically change their playstyle. However, the two standout options for players coming from other shooter titles would have to be Aeros and Meridian, both of which are currently the top-picked Factions. Both Factions shine in aggressive play, while also boosting health regeneration—one for the individual player, and the other for the entire team.
