Squid Game has been one of the biggest shows on Netflix and began in 2021. It didn't take much time for the series to become a gigantic hit and b reak viewership records for the streaming platform. The story continued with Season 2 and saw Gi-hun entering the games once again so that he could bring an end to this brutality. However, things didn't go as planned, and Gi-hun failed to stop the games. In the end, Player 456 realized that whatever he did wasn't enough for the rebellion to succeed. Fans are eagerly waiting for Season 3 to arrive, and to make them more excited, Netflix shared a new clip from the final season of Squid Game featuring an angry Gi-hun.

Squid Game Season 3: Player 456 Asks Why They Kept Him Alive, While Pleading With The Guards To Kill Him

In the clip, Gi-hun can be seen standing in the big hall where all the players sleep. A few seconds later, pink guards make their entry to the hall, prompting Player 456 to confront them about what happened and why they kept him alive. He looks completely shattered and just wants everything to end for him. He even encouraged one of the guards to shoot him right between the eyes and to kill him, just as they had done to so many before. "Why didn't you kill me?" Gi-hun said, while admitting to the Frontman or the VIPs that they won, meaning that he finally knows there's no way to save humanity. While this is happening, the Frontman is sitting in his chair, sipping alcohol, and watching all this unfold. The clip ends with the Frontman getting an ominous phone and as soon as he picks up, the logo of Squid Game appears.

The one-minute clip makes it clear that Squid Game season 3 is going to be intense from the word go. Lee Jung-jae showcases his acting prowess with a powerful performance in that particular scene and presents what his character is feeling after seeing so many people dying in front of his eyes, including his friend Park Jung-bae. He looks heartbroken and furious at the same time, clearly struggling with the weight of everything he’s been through. The pain in his eyes shows that the games have changed him completely. It’s clear that he’s no longer just playing to survive; he wants justice. On the other hand, it could also mean that Gi-hun might not care about anything or help anyone survive this game.

Season 3 of Squid Game will be important for many reasons, and not just because viewers are going to see a conclusion to this thrilling story. It will be important to see if people change, if humanity still has a chance, or if it is too late to bring them back on a path that values compassion over survival, and empathy over greed, a test not just for the players, but for the soul of society itself. Gi-hun, aka Player 456, might have to make some bold decisions and see where he wants to go from here.

The cast and makers of the hit TV series have already made it clear that Season 3 will be more brutal than the previous two editions, which means viewers might see some of their favorite characters die in the most painful way possible. This short scene has already built tension and made viewers eager to see what happens next.
