The rumored release date for Squid Game season 3 came a few hours after Netflix released the official teaser on social media that shows players entering the arena, reportedly getting ready to play another game of Red Light, Green Light. Interestingly, the teaser introduced a brand-new character in the form of a doll named Cheol-Su, a figure that had never appeared in previous seasons and is likely to play a significant role in the upcoming story. Season 3 is expected to delve deeper into the dark underpinnings of the competition, with higher stakes and even more intense psychological battles. Also, it would be interesting to see how Gi-Hun's story will move forward in the upcoming season. He wanted to lead a rebellion against The Frontman, but ultimately, his rebellion failed as he was outmaneuvered by the organization’s cunning, and the players who joined him were eliminated, leaving him to confront the harsh reality of the game’s unyielding power.

While it remains to be seen how Season 3 of Squid Game will fare on the streaming platform, the second season has already set new records for Netflix. As per Netflix, the sophomore season ranked #1 in 92 countries and created a new viewership record. It would be fascinating to see if it can outshine the first edition in terms of views and become the biggest show of all time for Netflix.

Both seasons of Squid Game are now available to stream on Netflix.
