STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has a story with lots of twists and turns. Players will progress through the story in order to get Dead Frequency, a mission that sees them trying to recover their scanner. This takes them to the location known as Camp Icarus — a complex under the control of one of the STALKER 2’s many factions, The Ward.
STALKER 2 has numerous main missions, and some can be extremely lengthy ordeals, having players spend hours in the game until their completion. This can be credited to the need to move to various distant points of the map. Some missions will even become intertwined and need players to complete one mission before they can complete another.
STALKER 2: Best Areas To Visit In The Early Game
As players begin their journey as Skif in STALKER 2, here are the most important places to visit early on for some great loot.
How to Complete Dead Frequency in STALKER 2
Players will first need to head to Camp Icarus, which can be found in the Zaton region — this is the same region where they can get the Railway Maintenance Facility Stash. Luckily, this point will become marked on their map. Once they arrive, they will be stopped at the gate. Players can progress safely after showing the Ward Badge they received from the Back to the Slag Heap mission. Now that players have access, they will need to find Faust’s Agent.
There are more than one entrance to Camp Icarus, but luckily the marker for the quest will move to the complex building once players gain access. Head towards this marker. This is one of those intertwined missions, as mentioned earlier. Players will need to follow the Like a Moth to the Flame main mission from this point. Trying to change missions back to Dead Frequency will still show Like a Moth to the Flame as their tracked mission.
Players will need to complete other main quests until Dr. Kryvenko informs them about the Echo Station. At this point, Dead Frequency will finally get a long-needed update to explore the Echo Station to find Lt. Sherev. There is a rather large search area, but you will be able to find Lt. Shterev just by following along one of the walls.

Here’s a detailed walkthrough to help you reactivate the antennas in the Invisible Nets side quest in Stalker 2.
Dead Frequency without Warden’s Badge in STALKER 2
Without the Ward Badge, this mission will take even longer to complete. However, this approach is far easier to follow as the quest markers will all be contained within Dead Frequency, and lead you to exactly where you need to go. The first marker will take the player to meet up with Star. This will send you to a marked house to collect a sensor off the body of Sergeant Orlowski.
Be sure to have some Medkits on hand, and to keep one for a downed NPC that will ask for it. Players that opt to help out the injured member of Bravo team by giving them a medkit will have them give the player a useful bit of information. This comes in the form of a password that will make things go a lot easier with Lt. Kozymkov.
Players will now need to find both Alpha and Bravo teams, and in both cases can either navigate lengthy dialog or simply attack them to make things go by faster. Regardless of whether the player has the Ward Badge or not, they will find Faust’s Agent at the Echo Station after completing either of these routes. The freedom to carve your own path and choose how missions play out is one of the many reasons people may hold STALKER 2 in very high regard.
Where to Find Faust’s Agent in STALKER 2
Enter from the east side through a gate, and you will see many closed wooden doors on your right. Keep going until you find an entrance to a large factory floor. Follow along the right wall, and you will find a door that takes you back outside. Keep following the right wall, and you will begin to hear some dialogue coming from behind a blue door. Entering will allow you to speak with Lt. Sherev, but get a strong weapon ready before proceeding. There are many great weapons in STALKER 2, but a shotgun will do the job in 1 hit.
Head back through the blue door you came in from, and you will find a switch to its right. Interact with this switch to activate the device. Doing so will alert multiple hostiles, which will not be as close as Sherev, so switch to using one of STALKER 2’s various Assault Rifles.
It is best to take cover from the room you found Lt. Sherev, and use the doorframe as a means of cover. Once the device is finished activating, you will be able to contact Faust using the laptop in the room you killed Lt. Sherev. This will complete the mission, but there will still be plenty of enemies to deal with. Players can choose to fight their way from this position or to flee by running past the opening on the right wall.
