Summary

  • Leaked character concept art for Star Wars Eclipse shows popular alien races, but little on game content.
  • Uncertainty surrounds Star Wars Eclipse's development progress due to a lack of updates from Quantic Dream.

Various pieces of character concept art from Quantic Dream's upcoming Star Wars Eclipse have leaked, giving fans a small idea of what they can expect when the game launches. Quantic Dream remains very quiet about Star Wars Eclipse, with very little news about the game since its reveal.

Star Wars Eclipse was first revealed at the end of 2021 with a cinematic trailer, showcasing numerous stunning locations set during the High Republic era. Confirmed to be an action-adventure title from Quantic Dream, the next game from the Detroit: Become Human studio gained instant hype among fans. However, almost three and a half years later, that original reveal is still the most fans have seen of Star Wars: Eclipse, and it's unclear if it still reflects the game's direction.

Players will soon be able to get their hands on new DLC for Star Wars Outlaws, free of charge.

According to MP1st, fans finally have a new glimpse at what's to come in Star Wars Eclipse thanks to some leaked character concept art. Coming from "the portfolio of an artist who briefly worked on the game," the 13 pieces of concept art depict various popular Star Wars alien races, including Gungans, Rodians, and Zenezians. The artwork doesn't give much away in terms of Star Wars Eclipse's content, but it's still a fascinating look into the kind of aesthetic Quantic Dream is aiming for with the game.

Leaked Star Wars Eclipse Concept Art Shows Off Familiar Aliens

It's also unclear exactly when these concept art pieces were created, making it even harder to judge how accurate they could be to the final product. After all, Star Wars Eclipse lost its lead writer in August 2024, and given the lack of updates about the game, it's difficult to say if it's still heading in the same direction it was before. There's just a lot of unknown surrounding Star Wars Eclipse, which only makes it even more interesting to see the game's concept art.

With recent studio closures at Quantic Dream's parent company, NetEase Games, there was some concern about Star Wars Eclipse's future earlier this year. Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière was quick to clarify that the Star Wars Eclipse studio wasn't affected by these layoffs, and hopefully this means the game's development is on track. No release window has been given for Star Wars Eclipse, so fans will have to remain patient for the time being.
