New information regarding the rating of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order  has just come out from the Australian ratings board. The latest Star Wars  game set for release this November will contain "scary scenes," the rating information says.

Jedi: Fallen Order  is the upcoming Star Wars  action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, the team behind Apex Legends  and the Titanfall  series. It will feature combat similar to Sekiro and will be comparable to other action games in the genre, with emphasis on combat, exploration, and narrative.

The Australian Government Department of Communication and the Arts, who is in charge of rating games and other forms of entertainment and art, has just released a rating for Jedi: Fallen Order. The game will be rated PG for "mild violence" and "scary scenes." No additional information was listed as to what these scenes contain.

This doesn't indicate anything out of the ordinary for Star Wars. It has also been a franchise that, while family friendly on the surface level, has darker undertones and scary situations. The gameplay that has been shown indicates that Fallen Order  will be violent.

What does this mean for the American and European ratings? Australia's track record when it comes to game bans is just one way the country is particularly strict on censorship, so giving the rating of PG means Jedi: Fallen Order  is likely pretty tame. The game might be dark even by Star Wars  standards, but don't expect an M rating from the ESRB. Fallen Order  is probably looking at a T for Teen, or a PEGI 12 in Europe.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order  is one of our most anticipated games of the year. This will be EA's first Star Wars  release since the infamous launch of Star Wars: Battlefront 2,  a game at the forefront of 2017's multiplayer loot box controversy. The exciting return to single player and Respawn's track record for making great games mean that Fallen Order  certainly has great expectations to live up to.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releases on November 15, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
