Continuing where 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order left off, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sees Cal Kestis embark on a new quest to find a safe haven for any remaining Jedi amid the tyranny of the Galactic Empire and builds off its predecessor's already well-received gameplay with new Force abilities and lightsaber types.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was met with positive reviews when it launched on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles back in 2023, though the PC port was plagued with numerous bugs and technical issues that would have to be ironed out in later patches. On September 17, 2024, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, giving gamers who haven’t yet upgraded to the current ninth-generation systems a chance to experience this gripping interactive adventure set during the “Dark Times” of the Star Wars saga.

Right before the Nintendo Switch 2 was officially revealed this week, GamesIndustry writer Daniel Camilo claimed that there was a Star Wars title in development for the new console, as reported by Comicbook. According to Camilo, this isn’t a brand new title, but rather a Nintendo Switch 2 port of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. It isn’t clear if this port will be available at the Nintendo Switch 2’s eventual launch or released at a later time, with some already speculating that it could come out sometime in 2026 or beyond.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Could Be Coming to Switch 2

Many longstanding questions about the Nintendo Switch 2 were finally answered when the console was revealed on January 16, confirming its official name and verifying past rumors that it would be similar in design to the original Switch. During this exciting reveal, Nintendo reiterated that the Switch 2 will be backward compatible with original Switch games, though some titles might have technical issues with the new hardware. At least one new game was confirmed for the Switch 2 in the form of a new Mario Kart.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was never made available on the old Nintendo Switch, and it isn’t clear if it will be ported to both Switch consoles or just the newly unveiled Switch 2. Daniel Camilo only specified the latter in his latest report, and gamers should remain skeptical for the time being.
