Respawn has issued its first major patch for the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Following its release, many fans had to contend with numerous performance issues which prompted an official Respawn statement regarding Star Wars Jedi: Survivor performance complaints on launch day itself. Now, it appears the developer is following up on its promises to fix these many performance issues. The months leading up to the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was met with a lot of anticipation from gamers, particularly after the success of Fallen Order just a few years ago. While reviews and general first impressions showcased a promising sequel from Respawn, its reception was largely muted by the many performance problems at launch. These issues ranged from broken HDR on Jedi: Survivor for the PS5 to game-breaking bugs that would prompt players to start the game over entirely. Fortunately, fans won't have to wait too long for the developer to address these problems across all platforms.RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Fan Doubles Game’s FPS Thanks to Upscaling In its latest update, Respawn has released a major patch aimed at the performance issues on PC, stating that the patch will help improve performance for "non-raytraced rendering." It's unclear if this patch specifically addresses framerate issues or HDR rendering shortcomings as the developer hasn't offered a detailed update. It's likely Respawn will follow this up with more patches for the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in the coming days. Regardless, the patch indicates a much-needed effort from Respawn amid the mounting frustrations from Star Wars gamers.

Respawn stated that console players will also receive fixes as the studio announced that PS5 and Xbox Series X|S patches will go online on May 2. The update will look to fix a number of things including the Jedi: Survivor Chamber of Duality bug, multiple crashes in different areas of the game, and rendering issues among others. Either way, time will tell how far these patches will go in terms of helping the title regain confidence from the gaming community.

However, it's worth noting that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has already emerged more popular than its predecessor on PC, despite the performance issues. At the time of writing, SteamDB records the peak concurrent user count for Jedi: Survivor at 67,855, a notable uptick from Jedi: Fallen Order's 46,550. Now, with the patches making their way to PC and consoles, it will be interesting to see how far the numbers will go over the coming weeks.
