Fans were pleasantly surprised by Luke's appearance in The Mandalorian, a television show that reignited Pedro Pascal's fame by placing him as the title character and breathed new life into the television wing of the IP. He didn't have many lines in this episode, and he didn't need any, since the real impact was just his appearance, but one of the best quotes was this one.
Grogu is the "he" in this quote, and Luke is paying it forward by taking in the little "Baby Yoda" to train as a Jedi, as he was taken in by a kind and patient Yoda. This leads to an emotional farewell between Grogu and his friend and protector and a fitting end to a great season of television.

The quote that became a running joke throughout the series was spoken by Luke in the first movie. It is a throwaway line from the scene in which the Millennium Falcon is approaching what those inside it first believe to be a small moon. This assumption is then corrected by Obi-Wan, who understands that the so-called "moon" is actually a really big space station.
The line appears in every one of the old movies and several other types of Star Wars-related media, although it's not always Luke that says it. Leia uses the line in The Empire Strikes Back, for example, when the Falcon flies into a suspicious cave.

The Empire Strikes Back ends on a somber note, with a shaken Leia and a badly beaten-up Luke staring out the window of a medical freighter floating through space. When Luke appears again at the beginning of Return of the Jedi, he's gone through some profound changes and is no longer a talented but over-eager student.
Jabba the Hutt, however, isn't exactly a believer, and doesn't think much of Luke when he gets into the Palace using some basic Jedi mind tricks. The young Jedi, who is all but a Master now with one confrontation left, warns the infamous mob boss against being too arrogant. Jabba ignores him, and pays the ultimate price.

Mark Hamill's return as Luke Skywalker in the new trilogy was the event that everyone watching was hoping to see. Besides that, to witness his prowess as a Jedi Master with decades of training was also impressive, but the most endearing moment of all is the one he shares with his sister, in which he says this line.
Luke isn't only referring to the dead or those who are about to die, but also those who might seem lost because their choices in life have led them away. It's an interesting paraphrase of his lines to Darth Vadar in Return of the Jedi when he insists that there is still good left in the Sith Lord.

This is one of the lines that fans often attribute to the whiny farmboy version of Luke before he discovered a world beyond the moisture farm and the flight academy. He was already in a poor mood when Uncle Owen saddled him with droids to clean, ruining his afternoon of "wasting time with his friends," and he stomps back to the farm to say this line.
The droids go back to the workshop with their new master for an oil bath and a session of cleaning. Luke's snide description of Tatooine was prompted by C3P0's lament that he isn't even sure what planet he's on, and this is how the frustrated farm boy replies. Minutes later, he discovers a recording of Princess Leia, and his world changes forever.

Rei and Luke had some great moments together that recalled Luke's training days, and this is a moment when she communes with his force ghost. By this time, Rey has discovered that she's a Palpatine and is dealing with some deep despair as she considers her past choices and her ultimate fate.
Luke appears in force ghost form when all seems lost, as is tradition, and explains to Rey that "some things are stronger than blood." As someone who was raised and trained by people that he was not related to by blood, Luke knows what he's talking about.
