Star Wars Outlaws excels in a number of different areas, from its fantastic narrative to its wonderfully well-realized world. The game also features a ridiculous amount of accessibility options to ensure that players have the best experience possible, although the sheer number of them may end up leaving some players a little confused.

The Best Star Wars Games, Ranked

On top of many successful movies, the Star Wars franchise has also seen a whole host of incredible games that have brought its universe to life.

It doesn't help that the four key difficulty settings serve more like the presets one might expect to find in a PC game's graphics menu than traditional difficulty options. As such, those hoping to find the best difficulty settings in Star Wars Outlaws may need to do a little tweaking to find a setup that's right for them.

Star Wars Outlaws Difficulty Settings

The four main difficulty settings in Star Wars Outlaws are Explorer, Adventurer, Outlaw, and Scoundrel. Each one effectively serves as a set of presets that dictate things like player health, enemy difficulty, and wanted difficulty. Players can stick with the suggested presets or customize a difficulty setting to better suit their needs, which may prove useful if players excel in one area of the game but struggle in another.

For example, players may be really good at mini-games and exploration but suck at combat, in which case, they could choose the Scoundrel difficulty setting but then customize it to lower enemy difficulty and increase player health. By default, though, the Star Wars Outlaws difficulty settings can be thought of like the ones found in other modern video games, albeit, with slightly different labels.

  • Explorer: Players should choose the Explorer difficulty setting if they usually play on Story or Easy.
  • Adventurer: Players should choose the Adventurer difficulty setting if they usually play on Normal.
  • Outlaw: Players should choose the Outlaw difficulty setting if they usually play on Hard.
  • Scoundrel: Players should choose the Scoundrel difficulty setting if they usually play on Very Hard.

If players are unhappy with their initial choice they can change the difficulty at any time during their playthrough by visiting the Gameplay settings menu.

The aforementioned difficulty settings dictate player health, enemy difficulty, wanted difficulty, lockpicking difficulty, slicing attempts, and galactic street food difficulty. However, there are a number of other difficulty settings and accessibility options in Star Wars Outlaws. Most of them are tied to mini-games, but players can also make space travel and dogfighting easier, with options for collision damage prevention, ion stun prevention, and auto throttle in pursuit mode all tucked away within the Gameplay menu.
