Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment's Star Wars Outlaws aims to make every scoundrel fantasy come true for its players by putting them in control of Kay Vess, an outlaw and thief who wants to pull off the biggest heist in the Outer Rim. Star Wars Outlaws features a vast open world with several planets for players to visit and explore, along with plenty of enemies to overcome using Kay's arsenal of skills.

Throughout their time in Star Wars Outlaws, players will be encouraged to seek out unique NPCs called "Experts." Much like Dragon's Dogma 2's Maisters, Experts can teach Kay new skills depending on their own profession. While there is apparently a wide variety of skills for Kay to learn, only a handful have been revealed so far, but it's possible even more could be revealed ahead of Star Wars Outlaws' release.

Every Skill Revealed So Far for Star Wars Outlaws

Cantina Brawling Is Kay's Basic Melee Skill

Judging by what has been revealed so far, Kay's Cantina Brawling skill will likely be one that players learn during Star Wars Outlaws' early game — possibly during a prologue. Massive Entertainment has disclosed that Kay "grew up brawling in cantinas" and, since Cantina Brawling is a basic melee skill for her, it will likely be the first skill players learn. This skill is taught by one of Star Wars Outlaws' Expert NPCs, the Bartender, who is likely on the planet Cantonica where Kay grew up.

Lockpicking Allows Kay to Unlock Doors and Containers

Lockpicking is a common skill in action-adventure and role-playing games, and it makes even more sense being one of the skills available in Star Wars Outlaws. Lockpicking allows Kay to unlock doors and containers and, like the Cantina Brawling skill, can be acquired from the Bartender. It's also likely this skill is learned as part of the game's prologue, as Kay grew up "sneaking around as a thief" in Cantonica.

Kay Can Hack Computers With the Slicing Skill

Kay can also learn the Slicing skill in Star Wars Outlaws, although the name of the skill and the Expert that teaches it have not been disclosed yet. However, the skill is more than likely called "Slicing," based on the gameplay footage for Star Wars Outlaws showing Kay performing a hacking mini-game that shows an option for "Slicing subroutines" at the bottom of the screen. The Slicing mini-game in Star Wars Outlaws is set up like the popular New York Times game Wordle, in which players have a limited number of chances to pick the correct combination of symbols.

Fast-Talk Allows Kay to Briefly Distract Alerted Enemies

Fast-Talk is perhaps the most scoundrelly skill revealed so far for Star Wars Outlaws, in that it allows players a brief period to distract enemies once they are alerted to Kay's presence. Upon alerting enemies, players can activate the Fast-Talk skill and Kay will make a comment to buy her some time to get a jump on her enemies. It's highly reminiscent of something Han Solo would do, so it fits right in with Star Wars Outlaws' premise.

Kay's Unnamed 'Dead-Eye' Skill Lets Her Target Multiple Enemies at Once

It's no secret that Star Wars Outlaws wears its Red Dead Redemption inspiration on its sleeve, and Massive Entertainment is even flattered by the comparisons. That inspiration is not more clearly evidenced in one of Kay's currently unnamed skills that resembles Red Dead Redemption's Dead-Eye ability. With Star Wars Outlaws' "Dead-Eye" skill, it appears Kay can slow time for a brief period, target multiple enemies at once, and proceed to rapidly fire at each of them once the slowed period ends. While the name of the skill has not been revealed yet, based on the way Star Wars Outlaws' most recent gameplay footage is pieced together, it can be assumed that this particular skill is taught by Quint, the Expert Weequay gunslinger and sheriff of Wayfar on Tatooine.
