- Update 1.5.1 also addresses some irritating bugs and enables support for the latest version of PSSR on the PlayStation 5 Pro.
Star Wars Outlaws players on all platforms can now download a new update, with improvements ranging from support for the latest Nvidia GPUs to certain bug fixes. The freshly released patch has essentially brought Star Wars Outlaws up to speed with the newest hardware across different platforms.
Five months after its release, it's no secret that Star Wars Outlaws has not met the high expectations set by publisher Ubisoft. Despite expanding upon the wildly popular Star Wars IP, the action-adventure game, starring an original hero named Kay Vess, received a lukewarm reception from critics and players alike. Following an underwhelming launch, Creative Director Drew Rechner laid bare the studio's focus on improving the game based on feedback going forward, with special focus on three important aspects of Star Wars Outlaws. To this end, the devs have shipped five major updates in addition to several smaller patches so far, with the latest of them arriving on February 6, 2025.
Star Wars Outlaws Deserves a Second Wind in a New Format
There is simply too much noteworthy about Star Wars Outlaws' premise to let it slip away into the past without a second chance in a new format.
Massive Entertainment has released a new Star Wars Outlaws patch, called Title Update 1.5.1, bringing a range of enhancements targeting PC and PS5 Pro users in particular. On PC, the patch adds support for the newly launched Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards and introduces features like DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, offering a smoother experience for players. Moreover, the DLSS 4 capabilities of Nvidia's GPUs also mean better lighting, enhanced rendering of details in motion, and improved stability. For those on PlayStation, the new update enables support for the latest version of PSSR, the AI-based upscaling technology used on the PS5 Pro console.
Elsewhere, a streaming service-specific issue in Star Wars Outlaws that resulted in a crash when going to the Renpalli Station has been fixed. Across all platforms, a bug causing overhead ships to be unusually loud and another preventing the new Star Wars hero from getting off their speeder while on a sharp incline have also been resolved.
The unfortunate launch of Star Wars Outlaws was a big disappointment for Ubisoft in 2024. To make things worse, it was followed by the shuttering of its live-service game, XDefiant, putting the veteran developer at a crossroads concerning its future in the industry. Now, with the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows inching closer every day, Ubisoft is likely hoping that the newest entry in its massive IP will mark the beginning of a stronger period for the troubled titan of gaming.
