When players first begin to unlock Experts in Star Wars Outlaws, they will notice the menu features nine expert slots in total, with the first spot taken by Bram the Bartender, and seven others showing a question mark, signifying experts that have yet to be unlocked. There is one spot, however, that does not feature a question mark.x Players may think this is simply an empty space, or a placeholder for a DLC expert. This is not the case. The center slot is home to The Veteran, a secret expert that is revealed when Kay meets certain criteria.

The Veteran, also known as MT-7, is the secret Expert that fills up what will be the final expert slot for most players. This is because the criteria for revealing The Veteran is more complicated than any other Expert in Star Wars Outlaws. This guide will show players how to reveal The Verteran's Intel chain, and how to unlock MT-7 as an Expert.

How to Reveal The Veteran's Expert Intel Chain

SWO-Vet-Hidden-Menu

Unlike several of the Experts in Star Wars Outlaws, The Veteran's Expert Intel is only revealed once you begin to collect a very specific item. Most players will not even realize an Expert quest has started, as the game doesn't make it clear that is what's happening.

The first step to unlocking MT-7 in Star Wars Outlaws takes place in space, orbiting Toshara, Kijimi, and Akiva. These three planets feature large, freely-explorable areas above their surface, where multiple treasure containers can be found floating among the space debris and ruins. There is one type of container that Kay wants to look out for: the small, yellow tubular containers.

How to Find Treasure Containers in Orbit:

While you explore each planet's orbit, make sure to make liberal use of the scanner. Press R3/RS to send out a scanning pulse that will reveal all nearby containers. There are three types of treasure containers the scanner will pick up:

  • Basic Containers: These containers are rectangular and have a red stripe on the outside. Shooting these containers will drop basic upgrade materials.
  • Long Yellow Containers: These containers are the general 'rare part' treasure containers that act like normal treasure chests. Kay will find rare upgrade parts and other materials in these.
  • Small Yellow Containers: These are the containers Kay wants to look out for. They contain encrypted transmissions and other collectibles.

Collect Encrypted Transmissions:

SWO-Vet-Encrytped-Messages

Kay needs to collect encrypted transmissions to begin the process of unlocking The Veteran. There are 16 transmissions in total. As you collect them, ND-5 will comment that he is currently unable to decrypt them, but if you collect more, he may be able to uncover the deeper mystery. It is at this point that a new Expert Intel chain will appear, though it will still be unnamed and unmarked.

The Broker quest in Star Wars Outlaws presents Kay with two questions of potentially bribing an Imperial Officer and who to give the pearl to.

After collecting several transmissions from various orbits, it will be time to move to the next step of the process. Make sure you've collected multiple transmissions before moving on. We do not currently know exactly how many are required, but we do know that five is enough. The next step is to progress through the Akiva storyline.

MT-7's storyline is tied to Akiva, so Kay must reach a specific point in her quest before The Veteran can be unlocked. This Expert can be unlocked earlier in the game if Kay decides to go to Akiva before Kijimi or Tatooine.

Complete The Viper

Once you complete "The Viper" from the Akiva main-questline, as long as Kay has collected multiple transmissions, ND-5 will contact her and let her know he can now decrypt them. The decryptions will send Kay to an Abandoned Landing Pad on Akiva. She'll find MT-7 on the ground, barely functioning.

Find MT-7's Unit:

MT-7 will task Kay with finding the remaining members of his unit. The first unit is found down at the bottom of the pit next to the landing area. Use the ladders to reach the bottom, then follow the platforming path to the small chamber. You'll need to find three generators to open the door to the broken-down unit. From the hole in the wall, you can look out and see two of the generators. See the images above for the exact location. The third generator is above the door.

The second unit's search area will be marked on the map. Make your way there and you'll enter a cave. Follow the main path, and you'll encounter the second unit sitting in front of an old computer bank.

SWO-Vet-Unit-3

Finding the third unit plays out the same way, with the general location being located on the map. Follow the main path to its end, and you'll find the final unit waiting at the edge of a small cliff. After receiving the data, MT-7 will inform Kay that there is something blocking the satellite in orbit above Akiva. Kay volunteers to head into orbit and fix the satellites. Fast-Travel back to the Trailblazer, then head into orbit.

Clear the CIS Satellite:

SWO-Vet-CIS-Sat-Jammer

There are five jammers in place around the CIS satellite, and Kay must destroy each of them to complete this section. Pirates will attack after each jammer is destroyed. To find the jammers, look in and around the debris. Some are found in the tight spaces found in the remains of old space structures. In the image above, you can see how well they are hidden.

After the jammers are destroyed, the mission will come to a close. Return to MT-7 at the Abandoned Hideout and speak with him once more. After the final conversation, MT-7 will be unlocked, along with the first ability, Decryption Module.

If The Veteran is the final Expert you unlock, you will receive the "Experience Outranks Everything" trophy/achievement for unlocking all Experts.

How to Get the Disruptor Set in Star Wars Outlaws

SWO-Vet-Sashin-Bunker

Immediately after completing "The Veteran," ND-5 will let Kay know there is one final Hidden Transmission from the decrypted files. This will begin the 'Hidden Coordinates' side quest. Follow the quest marker to the bunker door near the edge of Sashin. Kay will now be able to enter the old Seperatist base, which features a chest that grants Kay the full Disruptor set.
