In Star Wars Outlaws, players will be given a wide range of tools to use, with their main weapon being the blaster. There are other tools that can be used in combat like grenades and even Nix, but you'll always default back to your blaster unless you can find another gun.

Kay's main weapon won't change throughout the game, but that doesn't mean she can't use other powerful guns found throughout the various worlds. Here is how to find and use other guns to change up your effectiveness in battle.

Can You Use Other Weapons In Star Wars Outlaws

While Kay can pick up and use other weapons, her main weapon will a lways and only be her blaster throughout the game. There are many upgrades players can get for the blaster to increase its effectiveness and give players other firing options to change up what kind of damage each shot does. These different firing types are:

  • Plasma
  • Ion
  • Power
  • Stun - This is more of a special shot that charges up but does take out most enemies in one hit.

While the blaster will be Kay's main weapon, she can still pick up and use other weapons found in the game.

How To Pick Up & Use Other Weapons In Star Wars Outlaws

Other weapons can be dropped by enemies or found lying around enemy bases that can be picked up and used. You'll know if a weapon can be picked up and used as a white bar with the gun's icon will appear above the ground. Approaching the gun and interacting with it will pick it up, with Nix also able to retrieve weapons for you if it was dropped by an enemy out in the middle of a fight. Once a weapon is picked up, its ammo is limited and it will be automatically dropped once you run out. Its total ammo is displayed by the white bars around the reticle in the center of the screen.

Be cautious of when you run out of ammo as a short animation will play of Kay dropping the weapon, so be sure you're in a safe spot before running out.

While you can dodge and sprint with a picked-up weapon, any animation that requires Kay to use her hands will drop the weapon, such as climbing a ladder, grabbing a cliff, or getting on your speeder. It is possible to use Nix to retrieve a dropped weapon when climbing, but this is not always possible and does limit the overall use of a picked-up weapon.
