An eager Star Wars Outlaws player dove into the latest Ubisoft title, but quickly came across an irritating bug that made it difficult to get around. Touted as being the first open-world Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, transporting players to both old and new settings in the franchise's universe.
In the new title, players will be introduced to interesting and complex characters like ND-5, Vail the bounty hunter, and Lady Qi'ra as they step into the shoes of the scoundrel protagonist Kay Vess. The protagonist will take on dangerous missions and fight arcane villains as they meet other characters who help shape the game's gritty criminal underworld.

Thankfully, Vess doesn't need to face the Star Wars Outlaws' universe alone, as she is accompanied by the adorable salamander-like creature Nix, who serves as Kay's pet and companion and can help her out in times of trouble. Unfortunately, due to a frustrating bug found by Reddit user WRSA, even Vess' loyal buddy couldn't manage to come to her rescue this time. In a recent post, WRSA showcased a clip of Kay Vess trying to travel up the side of a mountain on her speeder bike. As she reached the top, the game experienced a bug that not only saw the character sliding down the ridge but also her pet Nix disappearing into the ground before popping out again as Vess finally reached the bottom.
Star Wars Outlaws Player Experiences Annoying Traversing Bug
Star Wars Outlaws is certainly seeing a few issues so far, aside from some frustrating bugs. Early access players are finally able to experience the game's stunning open world, but some who play the game on PS5 are being prompted by publisher Ubisoft to update Star Wars Outlaws to the latest version and completely restart their progress. The latest patch indicates that the previous version included a game-breaking bug, so maybe that's why Vess and Nix got caught up in the mountain sliding glitch.
So far, those having to restart their process seem to be isolated to PlayStation 5 users, with Star Wars Outlaws players on PC or Xbox not encountering any issues. Once the game officially releases for everyone on August 30, Star Wars Outlaws players will get the chance to explore planets like Tatooine, Cantonica, Kijimi, Akiva, and Toshara, while also getting to experience a collection of brand-new locations.
