Stardew Valley has received brand-new mod, titled "Baldur's Village," that adds Baldur's Gate 3-themed characters, new locations, new in-game items, and more to the farm life sim game. The Stardew Valley mod has brought together two of the most popular and highly celebrated games in recent gaming history.
Developed by Larian Studios, Baldur's Gate 3 is a fantasy RPG with a heavy emphasis on player choice and turn-based combat. Upon launching in August 2023, it achieved overwhelming success on all key fronts, receiving glowing scores from critics and experiencing remarkable levels of player engagement. Thanks to such a solid reception, Baldur's Gate 3 went on to win numerous Game of the Year awards and eventually sold over 15 million copies as of November 2024. Most recently, the modding community showed their fondness for Larian's fantasy title by adding its unique theme to the rustic world of Stardew Valley.

Following several months of development, Baldur's Village is finally up on Nexus Mods for interested Stardew Valley players to try out. The Baldur's Gate 3-inspired mod, which was first unveiled in September 2024, brings 20 different characters, six new regions, new shops offering special in-game items, and relevant dynamic events, among other things for fans to enjoy. Players can find Baldur's Village as an in-game location situated to the north of Pelican Valley. Among the cast of characters introduced by the mod are Astarion, Karlach, Shadowheart, Gale, Lae’zel, Wyll, and Halsin. In particular, Astarion comes with a full-fledged storyline and is also a romance-able character in the mod. Moreover, the devs behind the new Stardew Valley mod shared that romance storylines will be added for more characters in the future, starting first with Halsin.
Baldur's Village Mod for Stardew Valley Goes Live on Nexus Mods
Importantly, those who are looking to use the recently released Stardew Valley mod must have Content Patcher, Portraiture, and SMAPI mods installed beforehand. The Baldur's Village content doesn't require players to create a new save file. The mod is also compatible with certain other popular mods, namely Stardew Valley Expanded, Ridgeside Village, and East Scarp.
Apart from fan-made mods, Stardew Valley also seems set to receive official updates in the long-term. Despite developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone currently working on his new project called The Haunted Chocolatier, he has already stated that the farm sim title could receive support for 50 more years.
