Stardew Valley remains one of the most popular indie titles of all time, continuing to pull in new fans and returning veterans six years after its original release. The farming-RPG has grown steadily during that time, with a stream of new updates that have grown the world beyond Pelican Town. These additions have also expanded Stardew Valley's extensive crafting system, offering new tools, devices, and gear for players to create.
Crafting is essential in Stardew Valley, and many of the top-tier devices can save players hours of work on their farm. However, many of the most important items that players can craft use
Battery Packs as an ingredient, which can be difficult to acquire.
How To Get Battery Packs In Stardew Valley
Battery Packs are one of the most difficult ingredients for newer players to acquire consistently in Stardew Valley, as the process of getting them is semi-random. However, once Lightning Rods are obtained, they can provide a pretty regular source of Battery Packs.
Lightning Rods
The first method of getting Battery Packs that players will probably unlock is the Lightning Rod, the recipe for which requires the player to reach Foraging Level 6. From that point on, the player can create as many as they want, using 1 Iron Bar, 1 Refined Quartz, and 5 Bat Wings for each one.
Lightning Rods can be placed on the player's farm, and have a chance to be struck by lightning during stormy weather. The day after being struck by lightning, a Lightning Rod will produce a single Battery Pack.
Solar Panels
Although Lightning Rods are quite cheap to build, the random nature of their Battery Pack production makes them unreliable. Players who are looking for a more reliable (though slower and more expensive) method should try to unlock the Solar Panel recipe by completing the Island Ingredients Special Order after reaching Ginger Island.
A Solar Panel requires 10 Refined Quartz, 5 Iron Bars, and 5 Gold Bars and will produce a Battery Pack after seven days of sunlight.
Other Methods
There are also a few unreliable ways to gain Battery Packs that don't require crafting.
- There's a chance that the Traveling Cart will offer them for sale for 1500-2500g, and they can also be sent as gifts from Kent and Pam.
- Iridium Bats in Stardew Valley's Skull Cavern have a 5% chance to drop Battery Packs on death.
- Crates in the Skull Cavern can drop Battery Packs when broken open.
- If the player has opted for Remixed Community Center bundles, and have the Children's Bundle on the Bulletin Board, they will receive three Battery Packs for completing it.
- A Stingray Fish Pond with at least 9 fish in it can produce Battery Packs.
