Summary
- Combine rings with the Forge in Stardew Valley for stacked effects on limited slots.
- Optimize ring combinations like the Slime Charmer Ring & Ring of Protection for mining defense.
- Enhance luck and power with rings like the Iridium Band & Lucky Ring in the mines.
In Stardew Valley, rings have always been an essential boost to farming life. They could make the player faster, hit harder, emit a soft glow during the night, or make it easier to attract items. But with only two slots available, choosing from the plethora of great rings was always a challenge.
Stardew Valley Player Creates Charming Apothecary
A creative Stardew Valley player designs an apothecary shop in their game, and the design is impressing and charming fellow fans of the life sim.
Stardew Valley's 1.5 update to the game eased that burden with the introduction of the Forge. With it, players can combine rings to get the stacked effects of both. There are only a few stipulations: dupes of the same ring cannot be combined, and rings can't be further combined (i.e., three rings can't be combined into one). This feature really upped the ante, answering the question of how players can optimize their limited ring slots. Logically, the next question is, “Which ring combinations are the best?”
Updated on February 11, 2025, by Mohsen Baqery: The only significant change to rings in Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update was an adjustment to the Topaz Ring. Previously, it boosted the wearer’s precision—an effect that went largely unused. Now, it grants +1 Defense instead. While this change isn’t enough to impact the current list of best ring combinations, the influx of returning players due to the 1.6 update made it a good time to revisit the rankings. We’ve also added one more META combination and reorganized the list to better reflect the hierarchy.

This ring is a great starter combination for those who find themselves deep in the mines, especially on low-luck days or without sufficient weapons.
The Slime Charmer Ring prevents damage from slimes, which can be especially helpful on floors overrun with enemies, while the Ring of Protection serves as some defense against other enemies. Combined, these rings are great against the variety of monsters found in the mines.

Nobody likes debuffs. They’re just another obstacle between the player and their main objective. Getting slimed in the mines is especially annoying — players don’t want to be slowed down by the most common enemies. They want gems and ore.
This ring combination eliminates both problems, allowing players to completely ignore slimes if they want to. It’s also essential for players with a Slime Hutch on their farms.
8 Crabshell Ring & Immunity Band

A good pair of boots isn’t the only kind of armor in the game. Rings are another great way to protect players from taking damage and recovering between blows.
Ordinarily, defense-focused rings aren’t a top priority. After all, there are so many other rings that can do what the Galaxy Boots can’t. But combining both rings and the Galaxy Boots? Even the Serpents of Skull Cavern couldn’t breach those defenses.
7 Thorns Ring & Protection Ring
Advantage: Reflects DMG and Extends Invincibility

|---|---|---|
|
When enemies damage you, they will take damage themselves |

Volcano Dungeon Chests |
No matter what, exploring the mines is going to lead to taking damage from monsters — especially for those players who love charging in headfirst. So, if a fight is inevitable, players might as well make the most of it, right?
This ring combo ensures that monsters will always hurt themselves when attacking the player. It also gives players a little extra breathing room so they can down some healing items. Fight smarter, not harder.
6 Warrior Ring & Savage Ring

Adventurer’s Guild after slaying 150 Void Spirits |
Some players love fighting monsters. Others may just want to get a monster out of the way as quickly as possible, so they can get back to mining. Either way, this ring combination is perfect.
Think of it as a reward for a fight well done. Players get a nice boost to their attack power and speed, so they can start zooming around the level, slashing away to their heart’s desire.
5 Soul Sapper Ring & Vampire Ring
Advantage: Restores Energy and Health

Where to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
|
Gain a little bit of energy every time you slay a monster |
Volcano Dungeon Chests |

Gain a little health every time you slay a monster |
Adventurer’s Guild after slaying 200 bats |
Even with a fully upgraded inventory, players only have so much room to hold all their loot. This can lead to them making some tough choices on what to keep and what to trash during mining. Food and other health items are essential to a successful day of mining, but they also take up valuable space.
Stardew Valley: Best Healing Food
Health dropping low? Discover the most potent healing foods in Stardew Valley for boosting strength.
Luckily, there’s a solution! This ring combo gives back what the pickaxe and monsters take away. It won’t eliminate the need for food completely, but every little bit helps.
4 Lucky Ring & Ring Of Yoba
Advantage: Gives Luck and Shields DMG
|
Ring Type |
Effect |
Where to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
|
Increases Luck by +1 |
Craftable at Combat level 7 |

A little extra luck is essential in Stardew Valley, whether players are mining or not. The Lucky Ring is great to have on those rotten days when the fortune teller on TV says that the spirits are angry. But it gets even better.
The Lucky Ring also increases a player’s chances of receiving Yoba’s Blessing if they’re wearing a Ring of Yoba. Combining the two can make players nigh-on untouchable!
3 Burglar’s Ring & Phoenix Ring
Advantage: Attracts Extra Loot and Restores HP
|
Ring Type |

Where to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
|
Monsters have a greater chance of dropping loot |

Items and health have an interesting dynamic in Stardew Valley. Getting knocked out leads players to lose some of their hard-earned loot from the mines. Even Marlon’s services can’t recover all of the lost items, which is pretty frustrating.
Thankfully, there are ways to avoid that. The Burglar’s Ring helps players gain items, while the Phoenix Ring prevents players from losing said items. Once they’ve risen from the ashes, they can either keep mining or start running for the exit.
2 Iridium Band & Napalm Ring
Advantage: Improves Exploration and Creates Explosions
|
Ring Type |
Effect |
Where to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
|
Glows, attracts items, and increases attack damage by 10% |
|
|
|
When you defeat an enemy, they explode |
Adventurer’s Guild after slaying 250 Serpents |
The Iridium Band may have single-handedly inspired the idea of ring combinations in the first place. After all, it’s a combo in itself of three different rings: the Glow Ring, Magnet Ring, and Ruby Ring. This makes it a no-brainer for players to craft as soon as their Combat reaches Level 9.
The Napalm Ring is also a fan favorite; making slain enemies blow up really helps players conserve bombs. And so, it’s no surprise that these two rings — arguably the best ones in the whole game — make for a universal dynamic duo.
1 Iridium Band and Slime Charmer
Advantage: Protects the Wearers Against Slimes and Improves Exploration
|
Ring Type |
Effect |
Where to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
|
Emits a 10-tile light, increases magnetic radius by two tiles, and buffs ATK by 10% |
|
|
|
Prevents Slime DMG and Debuff |
Adventurer’s Guild after slaying 1000 Slimes |
In Stardew Valley, the best ring combination is the Iridium Band and Slime Charmer. This META duo is ideal for exploring mines and dungeons, eliminating the threat of Slimes while providing essential benefits like light, increased magnetic radius, and an ATK boost.
The Slime Charmer is one of the most practical rings for monster hunting, making the wearer immune to Slime damage and debuffs. This allows players to bypass Slimes entirely, focusing on other enemies or collecting items without unnecessary combat.
The Iridium Band, on the other hand, is a versatile ring that pairs well with nearly any other. Its essential exploration and combat perks create strong synergy with various buffs, but when combined with the Slime Charmer, it makes reaching the lower floors of the Mine significantly easier.
