A large aspect of Stardew Valley is collecting ores and minerals for crafting and upgrading. But the mines are littered with deadly slimes, crabs, mummies, serpents, etc., so it’s important to have a strong weapon. Clearing the mines and dungeons will also allow players to complete quests, get shiny gifts for villagers they want to romance, and explore new and exciting areas within the game.

Meowmere
20-20 Damage, +4 Speed, +2 Weight
- How To Get It: Place the Far Away Stone on the plant pedestal inside the basement of Wizard’s Tower.
The Meowmere is a unique sword weapon in Stardew Valley's 1.6 update, added as a special nod to the popular game Terraria. It's a distinctive pink and blue sword with a cat-shaped hilt. Upon defeating an enemy with the
Meowmere, they explode into a shower of rainbow sparkles.
The Meowmere is the only sword in Stardew Valley that deals a consistent, unchanging amount of damage with every swing. This makes it stand out from other weapons, whose damage can fluctuate or increase with upgrades. Nonetheless, the Meowmere is mainly a cosmetic weapon, as its damage output is outclassed by other high-level swords.
Holy Blade
20–27 Damage, +4 Speed, +2 Defense, Crusader Enchantment
- How To Get It: The Holy Blade can be found as loot in the Mines on floors 80 and deeper. It has a chance to appear in crates and barrels.
Introduced in Update 1.6, the
Holy Blade is a fast and balanced sword with both offensive and defensive power. With its +4 Speed, it strikes faster than slower weapons, while the +2 Defense helps mitigate incoming damage.
What sets the Holy Blade apart is its built-in Crusader enchantment, which grants 50% extra damage against undead and void enemies such as mummies, ghosts, skeletons, and shadow creatures. It also prevents mummies from reviving, making it especially valuable in the Skull Cavern. With its mix of speed, survivability, and situational bonuses, the Holy Blade stands out as one of the best mid-game swords in Stardew Valley.
Wicked Kris
24-30 Damage, +4 Crit Chance
- How to get it: Dropped by Haunted Skulls (Quarry and Mines) and in Boxes and Barrels
As a rule, daggers are faster than any other melee weapon in Stardew Valley. Although the damage might be lower, the ability to land more strikes makes daggers an excellent choice for combat. The
Wicked Kris is one of the stronger daggers, dealing between 24-30 damage with each strike - earning this vicious little weapon its name.
Finding a Wicked Kris is easier than a lot of other weapons, although it cannot be purchased from the Adventurer's Guild. There's a chance it'll be dropped by a Haunted Skull, which inhabits both The Quarry and the Mines. It can also be found by breaking boxes and barrels in the mines, which means players better start smashing.

At its peak, it can reach a 48.99% critical strike chance, with each critical hit delivering 14 times the normal damage. With the addition of +9 Luck from food and ring combinations, this critical strike chance can be further boosted to an impressive 60.01%. This makes the Iridium Needle an amazing choice for players who prioritize high-damage, high-risk gameplay.
