Stardew Valley's 1.6 update recently arrived for all players after having previously only been available on PC. The update is delighting fans with its bevy of new content, tweaks, and improvements, and it also seems to be drawing a lot of new players into the fold for the first time.

Stardew Valley's 1.6.9 Update Explained

Though Stardew Valley’s latest update may not be the largest the game has ever seen, 1.6.9 has plenty of content, features, and fixes to offer players

Such was the case for Reddit user codeverydamnday, who got their boyfriend to play Stardew Valley for the first time. The two were enjoying the title in co-op mode when the glitch occurred. According to the OP, their boyfriend attempted to enter the greenhouse while still mounted on horseback. While he technically made it into the greenhouse, somehow Stardew Valley placed him out of bounds of the room, floating in the dark void beyond it. With no way out, the player was forced to wait until 2 am, when his character passed out and the next day began.

Stardew Valley Void Creates Amusement

Fellow players have had humorous reactions to the sight of codeverydamnday and their partner passed out side-by-side with a wall between them. One called it relationship goals, while another joked that it was a shared braincell moment. Stardew Valley's 1.6 update fixed a latency bug with horses that could result in players being teleported out of bounds, but it's not clear if this is the same bug, or a similarnew one.

While this is a fairly unique issue to experience, it's far from the first time that the void has swallowed up characters in the game. Usually, though, it's limited to NPCs. Many players have reported their NPC spouses or children walking beyond the walls of their home, often standing stock-still in the pitch black beyond the boundaries of the house for no apparent reason. Generally, it seems to be a pathfinding issue with the NPCs, and an odd sight to see. However, even in this situation, the game will usually fix the problem once the day resets.

It will be interesting to see if this issue happens with other players, or even in the new mobile multiplayer mode. After saying that multiplayer on Stardew Valley's mobile ports couldn't be done, ConcernedApe impressed fans by adding it as an experimental feature in the new update. Given its experimental nature, it may hold the potential for even weirder bugs.
