Stardew Valley is a game full of charming romanceable villagers, each of which appeals to different players in different ways. There are several benefits to friendship, romance, and marriage in Stardew Valley; while companionship is definitely nice, the ability to receive gifts from your friends and spouses (amongst other benefits!) Is certainly another bonus.
One of the handsome bachelors in the game available for romance and marriage is
Harvey, the sweet doctor who runs the local medical clinic with a habit of finding the player if they happen to pass out in the mines from fighting one too many monsters. This guide is here to explain to players the best way to raise friendship with Harvey, as well as how to approach marriage with him, too.
Harvey’s Regular Schedule For Every Season
Each villager in Stardew Valley has their own regular schedule depending on the day and the season, as well as the weather during each day. Harvey is no different, and while checking in the medical clinic for him might seem like a safe bet, that isn’t always the case.
Harvey also has specific parts of his schedule that might be helpful for players to memorize. For instance, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Harvey will be with patients for a checkup. On rainy days, Harvey will leave the front of the clinic and walk upstairs to his room at 12pm, even if there are still patients in the clinic. If the player doesn’t have enough heart points, don't worry - he can also be found later that evening at the Stardrop Saloon.

The Best Gifts for Harvey: Likes, Loves, Dislikes, and Hates
Harvey isn’t an especially picky villager when it comes to gifts – his liked, loved, and even neutral gifting opportunities are quite wide, with several items being accessible to newer players in particular. His likes and dislikes are also easier to remember in the context of his job as Stardew Valley’s doctor - he has a penchant for healthy foods and a dislike for fatty and sugary foods, reflecting his job.
Don’t forget - villagers in Stardew Valley especially appreciate gifts during their birthdays! Giving a gift to a villager on their birthday will give the player a huge increase in friendship points, especially if they are liked or loved gifts. Harvey’s birthday is Winter 14 – keep this in mind if you want a big boost in friendship.

Movie Theater: Harvey's Favorites
In 1.4, the Movie Theater was introduced to Stardew Valley. This allows players to take a villager to see a movie with them, as well as giving the opportunity to buy concessions they might like for a big boost in friendship. To invite Harvey to a movie, the player must first buy a ticket for 1,000g - then, all they have to do is give it to Harvey in the same manner they'd give a regular gift. Then, the player should head over to the Movie Theater located at the Joja building in the east of town on the same day they gave Harvey the ticket.
Harvey has different preferences when it comes to his preferred screenings and snacks. Loved and liked movies and concessions will give the player a lot of heart points with him, whereas disliked movies and concessions will lessen heart points.

- Four Hearts: enter the Clinic while Harvey is there.
- Six Hearts: enter the General Store between 11am and 3pm.
- Eight Hearts: enter the Clinic.
- Ten Hearts: Harvey will send the player a letter asking to meet at the railroad tracks south of town. Meet him there between 9am and 5pm.

What Happens After Marrying Harvey?
After the player marries Harvey, he will move into their farmhouse and live alongside them. He will add another small room to the right side of the farmhouse, as well as a small garden area behind the farmhouse where he can occasionally be found reading. After moving in, Harvey will sometimes give the player gifts; on mornings, he may give the player a Complete Breakfast, and on rainy nights, he may offer Carp Surprise, Crispy Bass, Fried Eel, Salmon Dinner, or Vegetable Medley.
Harvey will continue working at the Clinic in the town after marrying the player, though his schedule will change slightly outside of that. He travels to town on Tuesdays and Thursdays for work, but he can be found at the player's farmhouse often.
Stardew Valley is currently available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PlayStation Vita, Switch, and Xbox One.
