Players learn the crafting recipe for Wild Bait when they reach a four-heart friendship with Linus, the wise old man who lives in The Mountain. It is crafted using Slime, Bug Meat, and Fiber, all of which can be easily obtainable in Stardew Valley. This allows players to produce Wild Bait in sufficient quantities to support their fishing activities.
How to Craft Wild Bait
To craft Wild Bait in Stardew Valley, players need 10 Fiber, 5 Slime, and 5 Bug Meat. Five Wild Bait can be produced per craft. Listed below are the ways players can gather the necessary ingredients.
Fiber
Fiber is a common resource that players can obtain by destroying Weeds using various tools such as Scythe, Hoe, Axe, or Pickaxe. When weeds are cut, there is a 50% chance for each one to drop 1 Fiber. Weeds can be found in large quantities on Levels 25-29 and 81-109 of the Mines.
Alternatively, players can harvest 4 to 7 Fibers from fully-grown Fiber Seeds. When planted on tilled soil, Fiber Seeds take seven days to mature. Players can also trade five stones for one fiber with the Desert Trader on Tuesdays.
Slime
Slimes are a common type of monster that can be encountered in various locations, primarily within The Mines. When a Slime is defeated, there is a chance it will drop Slime, a shimmering, gelatinous glob. Players can obtain up to two Slime globs by killing a single Slime creature.
Alternatively, players have the option to purchase up to 50 Slime from Krobus’ Shop on Mondays, each costing 10 g. Slime can also be acquired through other means, such as from Slime Balls or by checking the Traveling Cart, where the price can range from 100 to 1,000 gold.
Bug Meat

Bug Meat is a Monster Loot item in Stardew Valley. It is a juicy lump of bug flesh that is obtained by killing insects.
Armored Bugs and dangerous Armored Bugs can only be killed if players have forged their weapon with the Bug Killer combat enchantment.
