Stardew Valley offers a multitude of opportunities for players to immerse themselves in the world of fishing, an integral aspect of farm life. Casting a fishing line into the serene waters of the Valley can yield a wide variety of fish. Among these,
Tuna stands out as a prized catch.
Tuna is a large fish that inhabits the virtual oceans of Stardew Valley. It is a versatile fish that can be sold or used in a variety of culinary dishes. Tuna has a base sell price of 100 gold which is doubled for iridium-quality fish. Additionally, Tuna can reproduce every 3 days when placed in a Fish Pond.
How to Catch Tuna
As Tuna are an Ocean fish, they can be caught in the ocean at The Beach during Summer and Winter. Players who opted for the Beach Farm can easily reel in Tuna on the premises of their farm. Additionally, those who have unlocked Ginger Island can find Tuna fish in any season on the Island's West, South, and Southeast waters. Tuna can also be caught in the Pirate Cove.
Players should go fishing between 6 AM to 7 PM to increase their chances of catching Tuna fish. Alternatively, they can use a Magic Bait to quickly reel in Tuna regardless of the time of day or season.
Tuna can also be found in Garbage Cans during the Summer or Winter. Players can occasionally purchase Tuna from the Traveling Cart for 300 to 1,000 gold.
Uses of Tuna Fish
Tuna isn’t optimal for gifting as no one in Pelican Town likes it. However, a few of the villagers such as Demetrius, Willy, Sebastian, Elliot, Leo, Linus, and Pam are neutral towards receiving Tuna as a gift. Tuna is used for completing the Ocean Fish Bundle in the Fish Tank. For players with remixed Community Center bundles, completing the Quality Fish Bundle requires either one Gold or one Iridium-quality Tuna.
Tuna serves as a key ingredient in crafting Fish Tacos, a delicious snack in the game. Players can obtain the recipe for Fish Tacos from Linus, who sends it via mail once players reach a seven-heart friendship with him. To make Fish Tacos, players need 1 Tuna, 1 Tortilla, 1 Mayonnaise, and 1 Red Cabbage. Additionally, Tuna can be used for cooking Sashimi and Maki Rolls or crafting Quality Fertilizer.
Additionally, Tuna fish may be requested in Summer or Winter at the “Help Wanted” board outside Pierre’s Store as part of an Item Delivery or Fishing quest. In the Summer, Demetrius may also request 10 Tuna fish at the “Special Orders” board outside the Mayor’s Manor to help control the Aquatic Overpopulation.
Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
