Where to Get the Dwarf Scrolls in Stardew Valley

The four Dwarf Scrolls serve as a means of deciphering a long-forgotten language in the game. The Dwarf Scrolls are both numbered and color-coded, providing players with a convenient way to differentiate between them. Below is a detailed guide on how players can find each of them.

Players can gift any Dwarf Scroll to Dwarf and Penny.

Dwarf Scroll 1

The Dwarf Scroll I is a yellowish parchment elegantly fastened with a red bow. There is a 0.16% chance to find this scroll on any floor of the Mines or the Skull Cavern by tilling soil using a Hoe. The following monsters have a 0.5% chance to drop Dwarf Scroll 1 when killed:

  • Bat
  • Bug
  • Cave Fly
  • Duggy
  • Green Slime
  • Grub
  • Rock Crab
  • Stone Golem

Players have a 0.1% chance to find Dwarf Scroll 2 by tilling the soil on Levels 1-39 of the Mines. The following enemies have a 0.5% chance to drop Dwarf Scroll 2 when slain:

  • Dust Sprite
  • Frost Bat

Dwarf Scroll 4

Players have a 0.2% chance to get their hands on this Artifact by tilling the soil on Level 80 and above in the Mines. Additionally, there’s a 0.1% chance for any Monster to drop Dwarf Scroll 4, except for the following:

  • Carbon Ghost
  • Haunted Skull

  • Skeleton
  • Serpent
  • Wilderness Golem

There is tillable soil near the entrance of Level 95 in the Mines of Stardew Valley. Players can repeatedly visit this level using the elevator to till the soil and farm for Dwarf Scrolls 1 and 4.

Uses

The Dwarf Scroll 4 can be used as a yellow dye color at the dye pots in Haley and Emily’s house on 2 Willow Lane. This scroll is not a part of any Fish Pond quests.

Each of the four Dwarf Scrolls may be used in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create a Gold Trimmed Shirt. Players are able to dye this shirt.

The Dwarvish Translation Guide

Once players have collected all four Dwarf Scrolls, they can take them over to Gus at the Museum. Donating the 4 Dwarf Scrolls to the Museum unlocks a special item known as the Dwarvish Translation Guide. This guide enables the player to understand the language of the dwarves. Players can use this to communicate with the Dwarf in the Mines and translate dwarvish scriptures.
