Luck is an incredibly important aspect in Stardew Valley, one that is often overlooked. Having increased luck can help with a number of issues, including increasing the chances of finding a geode, or picking up some treasure while fishing, and even how many of your items you'll lose after dying in one of the dungeons.

Increasing your daily luck can be an excellent bonus to have, and luckily there's an object you can get that will permanently increase this stat: the Special Charm. The road to getting the Special Charm isn't the easiest, but it is worth it to make your farming life easier.

How to Get Secret Note 20 in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Krobus Secret

To get started on your journey to unlocking the Special Charm, the first thing you'll need to do is make sure you have access to discovering Secret Notes. To unlock this ability, you'll want to visit the Bus Stop from your farm anywhere from 6 am to 4 pm in winter. A small, black figure will be seen running away, also known as Krobus. This will begin the 'A Winter Mystery' quest.

You can locate Krobus in one of the bushes near the playground to the left of the Community Center. There will be footprints in the snow that you can follow as well to more easily find Krobus. After you interact with the bush and find him, he will provide you with a Magnifying Glass, allowing you to now discover Secret Notes.

In particular, Secret Note #20 is where you'll be able to unlock the Special Charm. While there is no specific area where this note can be found, as each one can be found in different locations, there are a few methods you can use to search for it:

  • Harvesting a Giant Crop
  • Artifact Spot
  • Fishing
  • Mining Resources (Large Stump, Large Log, Meteorite, Boulder)
  • Monsters
  • Weeds
  • Stone
  • Chopping Trees

These are in order from most likely to drop a Secret Note (with harvesting a Giant Crop at 100% probability) to least likely.

How to Get the Special Charm in Stardew Valley

Secret Note #20 will look like the image above, depicting a bunch of green arrows below an image of what looks like a target. This is actually showing the town center, specifically the red spot in the middle of the stone walkway next to the Stardrop Saloon, as shown in the second image.

From this point, you'll want to follow the arrows that are shown in the image. Start in the middle of the red circle, and then make your way right until you hit a wall and can no longer move. Then, go down until you hit another wall and can't move. You'll want to follow this method until you complete the whole puzzle, leading you to a car outside JojaMart.

The driver in the car will ask you to bring them a Rabbit's Foot. This item can only be picked up from Rabbits, which you can unlock once you have a Deluxe Coop. Rabbits will drop a Rabbit's Foot after they have been with you for a little while, so make sure to feed them and pet them daily to increase their hearts.

Once you have a rabbit's foot on you, you can return to the car and hand it over to the driver. In return, he will give you the Special Charm which will permanently increase your luck.
