Stardew Valley has many hidden mysteries that players must unravel. Some of these oddities are more difficult to uncover than others, leaving many players left in the dark while only a select few have managed to find them. ConcernedApe has made sure to leave plenty of puzzles for Stardew Valley players to solve, something that will hopefully continue in his next title, Haunted Chocolatier. In particular, there are three specific furniture items which require some fierce hunts from Stardew Valley players to acquire.
The hit indie game’s Easter eggs include hidden surprises in Stardew Valley's intro screen and character creation, various secret items, rare characters, and cryptic messages. Stardew Valley also has its fair share of recurring and interlinked Easter eggs via hidden interactions and items that can be unlocked in the same way. For example, Mayor Lewis’ lucky purple shorts can lead to unique responses from characters, 750-star tokens, a new trimmed version of the lucky purple shorts, and much more depending upon how players interact with the item. For furniture items, though, the Lore Book's statues present a very lofty challenge.
Some Stardew Valley Players May Never See this Rare NPC Interaction
Stardew Valley's various NPCs have the chance to interact with one another, but one pair of NPCs has a very rare chance of meeting up.
Stardew Valley is No Stranger to Easter Eggs
Stardew Valley’s secret items are some of the most difficult Easter eggs to uncover. The steps for procuring these secret items are oftentimes very specific and sometimes quite lengthy. There are the more random items that face particular requirements, such as the long list of items players can accidentally fish. This category of secret items is very location-specific, with many items only being available on Ginger Island and so forth.
Secret items with specific requirements can prove much more interesting than these location-exclusive Easter eggs. The Galaxy Sword is one such item, which can be found after finding and donating all four Dwarf Scrolls to the Museum. Players will receive a Dwarvish Translation Guide after completing this mission, which allows for one of the previously unreadable tombstones in the Graveyard to be read, pointing players in the direction of the desert. Standing at the location mentioned in the tombstone while holding a Prismatic Shard will cause it to be transformed into the Galaxy Sword. Another secret item players can receive is the Junimo Plush. Shaking a bush in the northwest corner of Pelican Town on the 28th of any season at exactly noon will add the cute plushy to a player’s inventory.
The Museum's Lost Book and Its Statues
However, no group of secret items highlights this difficulty more than the three statues players can acquire after decoding the Museum’s incomprehensible Lost Book. Like other Stardew Valley Easter eggs, acquiring these three secret statues requires players to decipher a puzzle laid out by ConcernedApe.
How to Find the Three Statues
The first letters in the aforementioned Lost Book form three sequences of three to four words: SUPER CUCUMBER TOWN, DUCK MAYO SALOON, and STRANGE BUN TOY BOX. While these words seem unrelated, each phrase is necessary to help unlock the three secret statues hidden around Pelican Town. In fact, looking at the first two words of each phrase combined with the last word gives players an item and a location. Super Cucumber, Duck Mayonnaise, and Strange Bun are all items that players can acquire by fishing, using the Mayonnaise Machine, and cooking respectively. The location mentioned in the second part of the secret phrases refers to various boxes hidden around Pelican Town.
Placing a Super Cucumber in the brown box located in the fenced area north of the Blacksmith, in Pelican Town, unlocks the “??HMTGF??” Statue. Leaving the Duck Mayonnaise in the partly hidden metal box in the back room of the Stardrop Saloon gives players the “??Pinky Lemon??” Statue. And finally, placing a Strange Bun in the toy chest in Vincent’s room at 1 Willow Lane unlocks the “??Foroguemon??” Statue. Not many players have completed this very specific quest, making these three mysterious statue furniture items something that most Stardew Valley players have never seen.
