Stardew Valley is a peaceful and cozy game taking place in the titular valley. Mainly taking place in Pelican Town, the farming simulator offers a wide array of crops to be cultivated and used in numerous recipes or sold for gold. While there are other areas outside the town, such as the Calico Desert or Ginger Island, these locations are just as peaceful.
Stardew Valley: How to Get Galaxy and Infinity Weapons
With the 1.5 update, Stardew Valley introduced the ability to forge Infinity weapons which are powered up version of the Galaxy weapons.
However, some areas go against this notion, featuring a vast number of monsters and enemies that can harm the player. The Mines, Skull Cavern, Volcano Dungeon, and even the player's own farm, if desired, are areas that host monsters. These monsters will require deliberate planning and tips and tricks to beat, especially with how fast some can defeat the player.
11 Stick Bug
High Health And An Invulnerability Phase
- HP: 700
- Damage: 20
Stick Bugs share a similar role to the vastly more common Crab enemies. They appear as an environmental object, in this case, wood, but will change to their true attacking form when a player gets close or tries to collect them. Perhaps done intentionally, this behavior of Stick Bugs is done in a manner much like the popular meme.
Where to Find Stick Bugs
Stick Bugs will be found in the Dangerous Mines on floors 41 - 69.
10 Haunted Skull
Hard-Hitting And Fast
- HP: 160
- Damage: 15
- Dangerous Version HP: 310
- Dangerous Version Damage: 19 - 26
Some of Stardew Valley's consistently strongest monsters are the kind that can phase through walls and ore to attack the player, unlike regular enemies, which must go around such obstacles. Haunted Skulls can be difficult to deal with early on in the game, but their true strength is in their Dangerous variant, which increases the stats of the monster and is more challenging to defeat.
Where to Find Haunted Skulls
The regular Haunted Skull can be found in the Mines on random floors as well as in the Quarry Mine. The Dangerous version will be found in the Dangerous Mines on floors 71 - 79.
9 Blue Squid
Fast And Can Debuff The Player
- HP: 200
- Damage: 15
Blue Squids are easy to deal with on their own but can become nightmares when spawned in packs. Blue Squids are able to phase through the environment, but at a faster speed, charging toward the player extremely quickly. Blue Squids also apply the Weakness debuff via a ranged attack, which decreases damage dealt by the player by 20.
Where to Find Blue Squids
Blue Squids, not to be confused with their fishable counterpart, will only be available to defeat in the Dangerous Mines on floors 11 - 29. Aside from powerful enemies, valuable resources such as Radioactive Ore can also be found in the Dangerous Mines.
8 Skeleton
Can Throw Projectiles Through Objects And Has A Lot Of Health
- HP: 140
- Damage: 10
- Dangerous Version HP: 655
- Dangerous Version Damage: 16 - 18
The Skeletons in Stardew Valley are a simple mob; they approach the player and deal damage once they come in contact. Skeletons also have an attack where they throw a bone that can pass through objects. The regular variation of a Skeleton isn't too challenging, but the Dangerous version can be, thanks to its large health pool.
Where to Find Skeletons
The normal Skeletons can be found in the Mines on floors 71 - 79, and the Dangerous counterpart will be found in the Dangerous Mines on floors 71 - 79.
7 Spider
Attacks In Groups And Uses Invincibility Frames To Its Advantage
- HP: 200
- Damage: 15
Individually, Spiders aren't a strong enemy. Their strength comes in numbers, as they can spawn in groups and swarm the player. Additionally, when a Spider jumps toward the player, it cannot be damaged. Oddly, killing Spiders is not required for the monster goals of the Adventurer's Guild needed to achieve Perfection.
Where to Find Spiders
Those with arachnophobia can be at ease as Spiders are not overly common and can only be found in the Dangerous Mines on floors 51 - 69.
6 Shadow Brute
Heavy Hitters Who Are Resistant To Knockback Damage
- HP: 160
- Damage: 18
- Dangerous Version HP: 370
- Dangerous Version Damage: 22 - 32
Krobus, the popular NPC who can sell items, is of the same race as the Shadow Brutes, but he is friendly and not malevolent. The regular variations of Shadow Brutes aren't too difficult to defeat, with the only notable feature they possess being a resistance to knockback. However, their Dangerous counterparts can pose a significant threat with this ability due to their higher health and large damage combined with the knockback resistance.
Where to Find Shadow Brutes
Shadow Brutes are found within the Mines on floors 81 - 119. The Dangerous variations will be found in the Dangerous Mines on floors 81 - 119.
5 Prismatic Slime
A Combination Of High Health And High Damage
- HP: 1000
- Damage: 35
The strongest of the Slimes but also the rarest, Prismatic Slimes are a rainbow-colored Slime that cycle through different shades, but they are not to be underestimated due to the huge amount of health they possess and the damage they can dish out.
Where to Find Prismatic Slimes
Fortunately, Prismatic Slimes can only be found in the Mines, the Quarry Mines, or the Skull Cavern once the Special Order, Prismatic Jelly, from the Wizard, has been accepted. It can also be found in the Dangerous Mines. Every Slime has a 1.2% to turn into a Prismatic Slime when spawned.
4 Mummy
Can Swarm The Player
- HP: 260
- Damage: 30
- Dangerous Version HP: 445
- Dangerous Version Damage: 38 - 55
Mummies have a unique gimmick where they cannot be fully killed unless bombs are used. At 30 damage, even the regular variations can pack a punch. The damage range of the Dangerous versions, combined with their nigh-immortality, can be truly devastating for players, especially when there are groups of Mummies around.
Stardew Valley: All Qi Challenges, Ranked From Easiest To Hardest
Qi Challenges are important and offer great rewards in Stardew Valley. Here's a look at all of them, ranked from easiest to hardest.
Where to Find Mummies
The Skull Cavern is the only area where Mummies can be encountered. Dangerous Mummies will be found here during the Skull Cavern Invasion quest from Mr. Qi's Special Order Board.
3 Magma Sparker
Fast And Can Greatly Debuff The Player
- HP: 310
- Damage: 15
Magma Sparker occupies a bit more of a support role. They are able to hold their own, having a decent chunk of health, but their main strength is their speed and the debuff they apply. Magma Sparkers can go through objects and will charge before attacking a player. The burnt debuff will reduce attack and defense by 3 and speed by 2, allowing for other mobs to defeat the player much more easily.
Where to Find Magma Sparkers
The Volcano Dungeon is the only place where these monsters can be encountered, on floors 6 - 9.
2 Putrid Ghost
Inflicts The Nauseous Debuff
- HP: 500
- Damage: 25
Putrid Ghosts tick almost all the boxes for a difficult enemy to fight against. They can pass through any object, have a good chunk of health, deal decent damage, apply a debuff, and will teleport once hitting a player. The only upside is their knockback weakness. The debuff is the true threat, as a Putrid Ghost will fire a spell that causes Nauseous, an effect that prevents players from consuming food items, which are necessary to heal and regain energy. Ginger and Ginger Ale are the only items to cure this.
Where to Find Putrid Ghosts
These can only be found in the Dangerous Mines on floors 51 - 69.
