A Stardew Valley fan has shared an incredible three-dimensional Switch 2 dock holder based on the game that they received as a Christmas present. The gift would likely please any fan of Stardew Valley who also owns a Nintendo Switch 2.
Stardew Valley recently launched natively on the Nintendo Switch 2, though there have been some unfortunate hiccups in the process. After concerns arose regarding some problems with the game, developer ConcernedApe quickly issued a patch to fix problems players were having with online co-op, though some lingering issues are still actively being investigated and worked on.
Stardew Valley Tips
If you're not quite sure what to do in Stardew Valley, here are a few tips to help you get started.
Stardew Valley Fan Shares Incredible Christmas Gift
With Stardew Valley launching natively on Switch 2 on December 25, Christmas Day, there couldn't have been a better time to get this gift. A Stardew Valley fan called gankotsu shared an image with the Stardew Valley community of the incredible Switch 2 dock holder they received from their husband. Fans of the game will instantly recognize the scene depicted, as it's designed to be a small diorama recreation of the player's standard farm. Every element of the dock has been created in three dimensions, making the piece not only a functional dock holder, but an enjoyable decoration and work of art to admire.
In addition to the farmer's house, players can spot tons of little unique Stardew Valley references. For example, a duck floats on a pond next to a Crab Pot, while on the opposite side, a Furnace is actively running by a small crop of what looks to be cauliflower. The sell chest is located in its standard spot by the player's front door, a standard tree and a Mushroom Tree sit on either side of the house, while a Mystery Box floats overhead, suspended by a balloon. One of the few artistic liberties taken with the piece is the crops being grown, as cauliflower and carrots are some of Stardew Valley's Spring crops, but the pumpkin shown is exclusively grown during the Fall season.
Stardew Valley fans have been incredibly enthusiastic about the thoughtful gift and how well it represents the game. Many said that they wanted one for themselves, expressing envy of the OP. While encouraging someone to get them this dock as a gift might be a bit more complicated, buying one directly is possible, as gankotsu explained that their husband had purchased it from Etsy. An Etsy search revealed the same dock, which costs $81.24, and is manufactured out of 3D-printed PLA. Those interested in buying one should be aware that there are two versions, as the Switch and Switch 2 docks are different sizes.
Stardew Valley Arrives Natively on Switch 2
Aside from some bugs and online co-op issues initially plaguing the release, Stardew Valley fans seem to be enjoying the Switch 2 version of the game thus far. The title's Switch 2 version introduced some additional features, like allowing up to 8 players to play together, utilizing the Switch 2 Joy-Cons' mouse functionality, and perhaps best of all, making use of the Switch 2's GameShare function. Though the indie game is quite affordable at a standard price of $14.99 on the Nintendo eShop, enabling GameShare means that up to three co-op partners don't need to purchase the game in order to play. This arguably makes the game more accessible than ever, and gives fans' friends a chance to give the game a try to see if they enjoy it before potentially putting any money down.
With Stardew Valley's 1.7 update in the works and Haunted Chocolatier still continuing its development, chances are that gamers will have a lot to look forward to from developer ConcernedApe on the Nintendo Switch 2.
