Stardew Valley’s developer, ConcernedApe, has announced on social media that the Nintendo Switch patch addressing the divorce crash and the raccoon shop will be released soon. Stardew Valley has been experiencing some issues and bugs that ConcernedApe has already tackled on PC, mobile, and Xbox, but the update is still on its way to Nintendo’s console.

Since its release in 2016, Stardew Valley has undergone numerous changes and updates. The game quickly captured players' attention with its quirky gameplay and charming pixel art style, while its chill and relaxing mechanics have made it hugely popular and relevant to this day. ConcernedApe has consistently updated the game not only to bring new content to players, but to address various bugs and issues reported by the community. In December, a persistent issue was addressed with an update that is now nearing its release on the Switch console.

ConcernedApe took to Twitter to inform players that the Stardew Valley patch addressing the divorce crash and the raccoon shop is “still coming.” The developer has not provided a specific date for when the update will hit the Switch, but it assures players it will be released as soon as possible. Following the launch of update 1.6, many players noticed these issues (among others), which have already been addressed on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Around Christmas, ConcernedApe tweeted to inform the community that the Switch patch was in development, and now, nearly 20 days later, it appears to be nearing release.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

Stardew Valley’s massive update 1.6 was released for PC in March, bringing plenty of new content to players. Among other additions, the developer added new NPC chats with personalized gift reactions, a new farm type named Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals and events. The update also featured visual improvements, such as waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal world map variants.

Although update 1.6 resolved many gameplay issues, subsequent patches unintentionally introduced new problems. Update 1.6 was rolled out to console and mobile versions in November, but players quickly noticed several issues, including major game-breaking bugs. An emergency patch was released for Stardew Valley’s mobile version on November 15, while the developer continued working on fixes for other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community has expressed satisfaction with ConcernedApe’s open communication and prompt responses to players' concerns. While the patch fixing the divorce crash and the raccoon shop on Switch isn’t available yet, players can rest assured that the developer is actively working to release it soon.
