Summary
- In Starfield, players can equip outfits in a single slot, simplifying the process compared to Bethesda's previous games.
- The game introduces an Apparel feature, allowing players to show the visuals of one cosmetic while wearing a different set of armor.
- There are various outfits available for players to wear, ranging from Starfleet Captain uniforms to pirate-inspired clothing.
Most of the time in Bethesda’s games, equipping armor or cosmetics would be bound to the individual slots on the character, usually the head, chest, arms, legs, and feet. In Starfield, this became more simple; merely a single slot that will equip outfits.
The 7 Best Spacesuits in Starfield, Ranked
Spacesuits are essential to navigating the world of Starfield. Here are the six best the game has to offer.
Starfield also introduced the Apparel feature, a way to show the visuals of one piece of a cosmetic while actually wearing another set of armor, similar to the Transmogrification system in World of Warcraft or the Glamor system in Final Fantasy XIV. As a result of this, there are numerous different outfits a player can wear over their armor/spacesuit.

As Starfield takes place in space, it only makes sense to have an outfit that is a reference to Star Trek. There are some other different colorations, such as blue, as well as alternative versions of the Captain Uniform, such as a regular ECS Uniform.
How to obtain the ECS Captain Uniform
When arriving for the first time in the Porrima system, orbit Porrima II, and a ship, the ECS Constant, can be docked with. Once inside , head to the Captain’s Quarters on the Command Level and the ECS Captain Uniform will be on a bed. Be careful, as it must be stolen.

The Disciples are a gang inhabiting Neon City and are the rivals of the Strikers (who are also in possession of a great looking outfit). However, joining the Strikers and then wearing this outfit might make things a bit awkward.
How to obtain the Disciples Streetwear
When in Neon Core, speak to Frank Renick in Neon Tactical, one of many stores in the city, to start the quest Bare Metal. The person of Frank’s woes, Warlord, must be killed in order to acquire the Disciples Streetwear.

A more urban and casual piece of clothing, the Shinya Voss Outfit doesn’t look all too far from what someone would wear in present times. Well, aside from the tech thingies. However, this outfit can take quite a while to acquire.
How to obtain Shinya Voss’ Outfit
Owing to its namesake, this outfit must be looted from Shinya Voss after killing him. This is only available after a lengthy questline with the Crimson Fleet. Once the Eye of the Storm quest has been accepted, siding with the UC SysDef will allow for Shinya Voss to be killed in the Legacy’s End quest. However, when killing Shinya Voss, stand close and press the transfer button repeatedly as his body will only be able to be looted for a fraction of a second.

One of the more unique pieces of apparel in Starfield, Delgado’s Outfit has a roguish appearance to it, fitting for any who want to play more of a pirate, which makes sense given its namesake as the leader of the Crimson Fleet.
How to obtain Delgado’s Outfit
This outfit is only available after choosing to side with the UC SysDef in the Eye of the Storm quest. After progressing far enough in the Legacy’s End quest, Delgado will become hostile. Once dead, Delgado’s Outfit can be looted from his body.

For some reason, pirates have the best outfits in Starfield. Looking like something a Gunner would wear in Fallout 4, there is also a red version available if gray doesn’t look as appealing.
The Best Weapons in Starfield (& Where to Find Them)
The best weapons in Starfield can be incredibly useful as players venture through the universe, allowing them to cut down their enemies with ease.
How to obtain the Gray Pirate Captain Gear
Progress through the Crimson Fleet questline and a character named Evgeny Rokov will be introduced. State to Delgado that he was useful, and he can rejoin the ranks of the Crimson Fleet's numerous characters. Choose to side with the UC SysDef in the Eye of the Storm quest and Rokov will be an enemy in the Legacy’s End quest. Kill him, and the Gray Pirate Captain Gear can be looted from him.

Akila City is modeled after a Wild West-type locale, so obviously, there is a way to become a space cowboy. This outfit looks the closest to a cowboy, but other clothing also features a similar aesthetic, such as the First Mercenary Outfit or the Freestar Dustwear.
How to obtain the First Officer Outfit
Accept the quest Deputized from the Freestar Collective. In this quest, kill the Ruffian Leader and the First Officer Outfit has a chance to drop. It is recommended to save before killing the leader, as the outfit is not guaranteed.

The Strikers, painted as the good-guy gang of Neon, don this bronze-colored coat with a built-in mask as a part of their dress-code. Bethesda seemingly likes to include coats as their best-looking outfits, as seen with Fallout 4’s Elder Maxson.
Starfield: Best Helmets (& How To Get Them)
Protecting your head is essential when traveling through space in Starfield. These helmets do the best job of it.
How to obtain the Striker Maskwear
This outfit is unlocked via an optional quest in the city of Neon called The Audition, given by Andrea in Madam Sauvage’s Place. Completion of this quest will grant the Striker Maskwear, as well as the opportunity to join the self-same Strikers gang.
