Summary
- Players in Starfield should be prepared to experience Frostbite while exploring cold planets. Carrying Frostbite aid items such as Analgesic Poultice and Antibiotic Paste is essential to avoid setbacks and potential death.
- Analgesic Poultice is an affordable and versatile item that can heal Frostbite and other afflictions. It can be found at Reliant Medical stores in civilized locations like New Atlantis, Neon, and Akila City.
- Infused Bandages, available for purchase from various vendors in Settled Systems, are an effective and cheap solution for treating Frostbite. With a mass of 0.10, players can carry multiple bandages without taking up much space.
Starfield encourages players to explore brave new worlds, but some of these worlds are far too cold for comfort. In exploring, it’s inevitable that players will get Frostbite in Starfield, and they will need to know the most useful items and foods that will heal their Frostbite, ensuring that their exploration and adventure are not slowed down by something future medicine and science can easily cure.
It seems that no matter the Thermal resistance players use for their spacesuits, Frostbite is an inevitability that all have to prepare for. Venturing cold planets can be part of a mission, or just for players that are curious about their next landing sight, so it’s best to keep a few Frostbite aid items in the inventory of the player, so as to not have horrible setbacks that could cause a death or two.
5 Analgesic Poultice
- Located at most Reliant Medical stores
- Price of around 450 Credits
- Used to treat Burns, Contusions, Frostbite, Infections, Lacerations and Punctured Wounds
With Analgesic Poultice, players can combine the effects of antibiotics, heal paste, and bandages to treat many different afflictions. Although players have a wide range of uses for Analgesic Poultice, it’s the fact that it can heal Frostbite that is the true kicker. Players can easily pick this up for an affordable price, warrant that they are not scared about a trip to their local Reliant Medical, which is found in most civilized locations like New Atlantis, Neon, and Akila City.
It's a good idea to carry more than a few Analgesic Poultice aid items because they only have a mass of 0.10. This means that even by holding 10 of these items, they are only using a total of 1 mass, which is certainly not a ton of wasted space, especially when it’s one of the best items to heal frostbite because it can heal three different afflictions.
4 Antibiotic Paste
- Purchased at Reliant Medical locations
- Priced at around 430 Credits
- Used to treat Burns, Frostbite, and Infections
Players can pick up an Antibiotic Paste from most vendors in civilized areas that sell aid items. Antibiotic Paste is great for picking up an effective aid item that is fairly cheap. Players can use 430 Credits, which by no means is a lot of money when it comes to buying aid items that could save the life of the player in question, especially when players can get Credits quickly in Starfield through a variety of different means.
With the ability to treat three afflictions, Antibiotic Paste can be a great use for players who are preparing to go to a discarded planet that will provide them with that ghastly Frostbite. The Antibiotic Paste also has a mass of 0.10, meaning players shouldn’t be too scared to pick up more than a few of these items to avoid the perils of Frostbite.
3 Infused Bandages
- Crafted Aid item
- 330 Credits to purchase
- Purchased from various vendors across civilized systems
- Treats Burns, Contusions, Frostbite, Lacerations, and Puncture Wounds
These special types of bandages are infused with heal paste to treat a multitude of afflictions, including frostbite. Players can pick up Infused Bandages from almost anywhere in the Settled Systems, provided that a vendor has aid items to purchase from. As always, New Atlantis is a great pit stop to make to find Infused Bandages and other useful aid items that players can purchase before embarking on new adventures into the unknowns of space.
With a value of 330 Credits, the Infused Bandages are perhaps at their cheapest in terms of curing ailments like Frostbite. They also take up a 0.10 mass, much like other items that are used for aid. Players can also keep a handful of these on their person, thanks to the fact that they can treat more than just frostbite.
2 Heal Paste
- Only 80 Credits
- Treats Burns and Frostbite
- Found in Reliant Medical locations or Trade Authority locations
Perhaps the best healing item for Frostbite in Starfield, Heal Paste only costs a low sum of 80 Credits, making it by far the cheapest way to cure Frostbite in Starfield. Players can also carry a bundle of these, as their mass of 0.10 means that they will not be slowed down for having an abundance of stock.
Heal Paste is easily accessible due to the fact that players can find it at almost any Settled System, considering most of these civilized planets will have a Reliant Medical and a Trade Authority in which they can trade off their Credits for Heal Paste.
1 Panacae
- Purchased from Settled Systems vendors with aid items, mostly Reliant Medical
- Treats all Afflictions, including Frostbite
- Drains O2 completely after use
- 740 Credits
At the patent of NeuroDyne, Panacea is an incredible, yet somewhat dangerous treatment for those that require fast medical attention. If players have more ailments than they can count, or they just want a total system reset to purge any nastiness from their body, then Panacea is the way to go, as this has the capability of treating everything. Diseases, poisons, injuries, ailments, and more.
However, there is a cost when it comes to using Panacea, but not one as drastic as an addiction. If players purchase Panacea and use it, they will have their O2 meter completely drained, and in need of raising by standing still or taking a breather. Panacae should only be used when the player is safe, and not about to get eaten by a Terramorph, or raided by a group of Crimson Fleet pirates.
Starfield is out now on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
