Starfield's Shattered Space DLC, slated for release sometime in 2024, aims to draw players back into the Sci-Fi fantasy with more story, more quests, and likely more mysteries to unravel. Starfield's base game has already proven to be a satisfying experience for its fans, so they are undoubtedly anxiously awaiting the release of Shattered Space and anything that it adds to the game.

Starfield is already full of impressive weapons, and it's likely there will be even more added in the Shattered Space DLC coming later this year. To properly prepare for the DLC, however, it would do well for players to acquire a powerful arsenal of weapons ahead of the DLC to ensure they can dominate their enemies with ease. Thankfully, some of Starfield's best weapons are fairly easy to obtain.

Starfield's Best Weapons - Va'ruun Inflictor

Players almost unanimously agree that the Va'ruun Inflictor is the best weapon in Starfield. It is so powerful, in fact, that many more devoted players have felt for some time that it should be nerfed to encourage the community to continue seeking out other weapons as well. In addition to its incredible power, it can be found almost anywhere — as a drop from Va'ruun Zealots, looted from weapon racks and cases, and even purchased from Trade Authority vendors.

Starfield's Best Weapons - Beowulf

If the Va'ruun Inflictor is the best gun in Starfield, the Beowulf is widely considered a very close second. The Beowulf is a ballistic rifle that has proven to be one of Starfield's most powerful weapons with the right mods and perks. To find one, players can loot it from the corpses of fallen Crimson Fleet crew members, Pirate Rovers, and Pirate Marauders. Additionally, once they reach level 16, players can purchase a Beowulf from Antonio Bianchi in New Atlantis and Trade Authority vendors.

Starfield's Best Weapons - Revenant

The Revenant is another powerful weapon Starfield players should seek out ahead of the Shattered Space DLC, as it has proven to be one of the best weapons for taking out large groups of enemies. As a magshear automatic rifle with a fire rate of 375, it can decimate entire enemy squads in a matter of moments. To acquire it, however, players will need to complete the "Eye of the Storm" mission for the Crimson Fleet.

Starfield's Best Weapons - Keelhauler

The Keelhauler is another worthwhile Crimson Fleet weapon in Starfield, and though it's not as powerful as the Revenant, it can serve as a formidable backup. Its biggest downside is its six-round magazine, especially in light of it being an automatic pistol with a rapid rate of fire. Still, it can typically eliminate an enemy with one magazine, and its reload speed is fast enough it is hardly a hindrance. To obtain the Keelhauler, players will need to first complete the "Echoes of the Past" mission for the Crimson Fleet.

Starfield's Best Weapons - Deadeye

The Deadeye is one of Starfield's most unique weapons, as it is essentially a sniper rifle and pistol hybrid. Its scope allows it to land powerful hits on enemies from an incredibly long range, which makes it useful in a variety of situations. Furthermore, a headshot with the Deadeye is usually a guaranteed kill, which makes its only six-round magazine an insignificant hardship. Players will need to complete the "Deputized" mission for the Freestar Rangers to get their hands on Deadeye ahead of Shattered Space.

There is still a long list of other weapons in Starfield that are worth obtaining ahead of the Shattered Space DLC, and despite any weapons the DLC may add, there are already plenty that can be found in the base game with powerful stats and amazing potential. In light of that, Starfield players who may have taken a break from the game for a while should jump back into their starship and seek out those weapons before Shattered Space releases later this year.
