Summary

  • Starfield features consumable items, like Chunks which restore health, provide buffs, and improve stats.
  • With Chunks being such a unique food item, fans have been quite interested in them, with one having designed a vibrant Chunks ad inspired by real-world fast-food posters.
  • Bethesda could consider adding similar ads officially down the line, while the modding community can also take inspiration from fan creations.

A Starfield fan has designed a neat ad for Chunks based on real-life fast-food posters. Starfield players can find Chunks throughout their cosmic adventures, but an ad like this may be an opportunity that Bethesda missed.

Like other Bethesda games, Starfield has many consumable items like Alien Kebabs, Chai Lattes, and Chicken Masala. While most restore health, others provide resistances, improve O2 levels, and increase carrying capacity. Beyond finding Chunks on defeated enemies and in outposts, players can also buy the item in cities. Chunks typically heal players a minimal amount, but items like Chunks Wine provide buffs to stats like Persuasion. Because Starfield retains inventory weight restrictions like Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, players can only carry so many items without utilizing mods. One gamer has come up with a unique concept for a Chunks poster that's inspired by real-life fast-food posters.

Reddit user Ares_from_Mars recently shared a Starfield Chunks ad inspired by various real-world restaurant advertisements. The bright orange and red image includes Chunks like Apple, Choco, Chicken, Cola, and Egg underneath the company logo. Beyond Chunks that already exist, the ad also features Alien Meat, Cheeseburger, Chocolate Cake, Kiwi, and Steak Chunks. The advertisement comes to life with a splash of liquid chocolate next to the Choco Chunk, melting cheese dripping from the Cheeseburger Chunk, and steam coming off the Steak Chunk. This unique promotional image for the Starfield consumable is akin to something gamers may find in real-world restaurants like Carl's Junior, KFC, or Pizza Hut.

This Chunks Ad Brings the Starfield Consumable to Life

Ares_from_Mars' Starfield advertisement makes Chunks look far more appetizing than they do in the game. The ad includes the catchphrase, "where food meets geometry" right above locations where players can purchase them; Akila City, Neon, New Atlantis, New Homestead, Paradiso, and the upcoming location, Gagarin. The Londinion location is scratched out of the ad, presumably because it's an abandoned United Colonies settlement that once may have sold the consumable. These 100% "cubic delights" Chunks can also be delivered according to the ad, and it recommends players don't skip the Chunks Cola, or "blast off" with the new Alien Meat Chunks. The Chunks in the image are promoted as costing 75 Starfield Credits, which is exactly what they're valued at in-game.

As Bethesda continues to update Starfield and is releasing DLC for it, advertisements similar to this Chunks one may be officially added to the city environments to liven them up more. The modding community may also be inspired by Ares_from_Mars' image to add in-game marketing, so Bethesda can focus on more pressing matters.
