Starfield is now two years old, and as the game completes its second year, many are eager to find out about its secretive yet-to-be-announced next DLC. Last year, Starfield introduced Shattered Space, a cosmic horror-themed expansion centered around House Va'ruun. Unfortunately, this DLC received similar reception as the base game, as many found the content and story lacking.

After the lukewarm feedback, Bethesda has kept incredibly quiet about Starfield's next DLC. That is, until recently. Bethesda's original vision for Starfield was for the game to get annual expansions, and as the year quickly flies by, many players have been left wondering if Bethesda has potentially abandoned these plans. However, a celebration post for Starfield's second anniversary has offered a brief hint at what the next DLC could entail.

Starfield's Next DLC Could Be Imminent

Terran Armada

The post is quite simple and straightforward. A brief 12-second clip saying "Happy Anniversary" flashes into frame. Suddenly, the message is briefly interrupted by some interference, revealing a few letters. Players have been able to decipher the potential words being spelled out in the post: "Terran Armada." If this is indeed the title, then it could expand Starfield's lore even further, possibly even proving long-running community rumors to be true.

New Starfield Story DLC Announced

Since its launch, Starfield has made some post-launch updates that have made it a more well-rounded game, like the REV-8 ground vehicle, but there is still plenty of room to improve, which is why many are so eager to learn about the second DLC.

Starfield's "Terran Armada" Teaser Could Point to a Few DLC Possibilities

The word "Armada" may raise some eyebrows, because it immediately makes one think of a fleet of ships. A lot of Starfield players have been wanting the ability to pilot and customize M-Class ships for quite some time, as it's been an ongoing rumor, and this DLC could finally make that a reality. These massive ships could open a whole new door for customization and exploration, but only time will tell if Bethesda makes this a reality.

Starfield Releases New Update for August 2025

Another possibility puts the word "Terran" in the spotlight. This implies Earth, which may be even more intriguing than the potential for M-Class ships to be piloted. The phrase "Terran Armada" may be hinting toward a fleet coming in from Earth, which may make way for a brand-new faction. The introduction of a surprise Earth-based faction that refused to leave with the founders of the United Colonies could be compelling. As far as it's known in Starfield, Earth isn't inhabited by anything or anyone anymore, so an unexpected Earth-dwelling group would definitely shake up the lore. Whether it be a new faction or a change to Starfield's ships, "Terran Armada" paints an interesting picture of what the anticipated DLC could be centered around.

When Will Starfield's Next DLC Be Ready?

This is the big question at the moment. A few weeks ago, it was rumored that Starfield's next expansion wouldn't arrive until next year. Of course, this is purely a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt, but it's also not impossible, especially with Bethesda being so quiet about its progress. It wouldn't be surprising if the developer chose to delay the DLC in order to ensure that it is a more rewarding expansion than Shattered Space.

Rumor: Next Starfield Expansion Not Coming in 2025 Delayed

Right now, eager Starfield fans will just have to wait and see what Bethesda's two-year anniversary teaser actually means. Considering that today is the official anniversary, an announcement could happen any moment, but Bethesda may also just be setting the stage for a bigger reveal down the road, especially with The Game Awards creeping up.
