News about Bethesda's upcoming spacefaring RPG Starfield has been coming in fast these last few days, with the latest being that the game now has its own themed Seagate hard drive that players can add to their collection of Starfield peripherals. Seagate is one of the most respected hard drive producers in the business. Its hard drives are prized by gamers for their speed and reliability.Seagate also manufactures expansion cards for the Xbox Series consoles, but these come at an eye-watering price. One of Seagate's Xbox expansion cards can cost almost as much as the Xbox Series S, so many gamers will prefer to instead use a more affordable external hard drive. Thankfully, Seagate has a range of them that offer gamers good value at the cost of performance when compared to the pricey Xbox expansion cards.RELATED: Starfield Ability Looks Like Something Straight Out of Star Wars Gamers can now buy a Starfield-themed external Xbox game drive manufactured by Seagate. The external drive is white with the circular Starfield logo adorning the top of it that also features embossed Xbox and Seagate logos. There are some other details around the sides of the drive, and it also features customizable RGB lighting to complete the look. The Starfield Special Edition Xbox game drive comes in two capacities (2TB and 5TB) and is available on Best Buy's website for a price of $109 or $169 respectively. There is also an 8TB drive hub available for $239.99.

Recently it was announced that an SSD-type drive is a requirement for Starfield on PC. For those still using hard disk-type drives, it will be necessary to upgrade to an SSD to play Starfield. What's more, Starfield is going to have an install size in excess of 100GB, so it would be wise for prospective players to keep that in mind if an upgrade is necessary. It is unknown whether the Starfield special edition Xbox game drive can be used on PC; presumably, it can be if it is formatted to NTFS, the preferred hard drive format for Windows machines. However, it is required to use the exFAT format for Xbox, so this is pure speculation.

Starfield is one of several games that were confirmed for a day-one Xbox Game Pass release at the recent Xbox Games Showcase. This means that subscribers on PC and Xbox will be able to play Starfield without paying the full price for the game at launch and experience the first new universe from Bethesda in over 25 years.

Starfield releases on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
