Starfield lets players explore a universe full of planetary systems and characters. Gamers primarily use their customizable ship to travel from one star system to another. Occasionally fans may bump into other friendly ships while flying around. Players looking to take up a pirate's life and steal from these ships are more than welcome to.

Destroying or boarding enemy ships comes with rewards like valuable cargo and even the spaceships themselves. Taking part in crimes will not sit well with the main Constellation Companions so send them away while committing these actions. Players can join up with the treacherous Crimson Fleet pirate faction and get paid extra for piracy. Here is how to get pirate jobs in Starfield.

Gain Access to The Key

Players need to become friendly with the Crimson Fleet to land on The Key space station. The player character needs to commit a crime then visit Cydonia on Mars. The player character will be arrested and detained. This will start "Rook Meets King" and the larger Sysdef undercover quest line. Once the player has proven themselves to the pirates they will be allowed to dock at The Key in the Kryx System. This station acts as the base and central hub of the Crimson Fleet. Gamers can buy pirate armor, weapons, and ships here.

Use the Crimson Fleet Mission Boards

The Crimson Fleet has their own mission boards similar to other factions. Head into the Reckoner's Core and straight from the entrance to find them. They are situated in pairs around Shinya Voss's chair. There are self-service bounty clearance boards as well. These will come in handy as pirating will accrue hefty bounties on the player character's head.

Pirate Mission Types

There are a few mission types that the mission boards will give. Raids involve landing on a specific planet and stealing the target items. Piracy missions involve traveling to a specific system and stealing cargo from the target ship.

Players can go about this multiple ways by either destroying the ship or intimidating them to give up the cargo. The Deception skill is useful as it makes intimidating stronger ships easier. All players need to do is dock with The Key to turn in the missions when the objective is complete. The reward credits will automatically be given to the player character.

Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
