In Starfield, the Microgun is an eight-barrel rotary machine gun inspired by the real-life M134 Minigun. With its impressive capacity of over 300 shots per magazine, it can easily deplete enemy HP within seconds. However, due to its base value of approximately 15,000, not all Starfield players can afford the Microgun at the beginning. Fortunately, there is a clever method to obtain this formidable weapon early on without having to pay the price. Here is a simple guide on how to locate the Microgun on New Atlantis—the easy way.

The Microgun Location

A free Microgun can be found in the UC Surplus store in New Atlantis. To get it, players will need to sneak into the shop’s stockroom and steal the Microgun sitting on the desk.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to getting Starfield’s minigun:

  • Begin by landing on New Atlantis.
  • Proceed to the left of the Terrabrew Coffee spot and locate the elevator.
  • Take the elevator to reach The Well.
  • Once inside The Well, head towards the UC Surplus armor and ammo store. It will be the first door on the right.
  • Enter the store and find the storage area. (The first door on the left.)
  • Stealthily get behind Bianchi's desk.
  • Look for a large yellow container and open it.
  • Steal the Minigun from the container without being detected.

Players are advised to equip the Stealth skill while stealing the Microgun. With this perk, they will get notified when an NPC “detects” them.

The Microgun Stats and Mods

In Starfield, the Microgun serves as the space-themed counterpart to the minigun. Stat-wise, it boasts a base damage of 11 (physical) and a fire rate of 350, with an accuracy rating of 47%. What's more, players can modify Microgun with six attachments, such as the Recon Laser Sight, Compensator, and Suppressor.

How to Remove the Microgun’s Stolen Status

After stealing the Microgun from the UC Surplus store, players can sell it to a Trade Authority and repurchase it. This exchange will remove the stolen status, making the Microgun safe to carry around.
