- Boom Boom, an explosive shotgun, is easy to acquire, with high mod slots for customization and explosive rounds for added impact.
Starfield is one of Bethesda's most anticipated games. The company hyped it up for years, and with good reason. It follows the story of a normal character who one day finds an ancient alien artifact at a dig site.
From there, players will need to travel around the universe looking for these Artifacts. One of the best ways to ensure that a character is ready to go out into the universe is by finding the most overpowered weapons to use. Here are some of the most surprisingly overpowered weapons, especially if they have the right mods.
Starfield: Best Weapon Mods to Unlock
A fully-kitted weapon can make all the difference when it comes to surviving Starfield's shootouts.

This pistol may not seem like much, but it is the best pistol in the game, and players can get it pretty early on. This makes it an amazing option for players who are looking for something that they won't need to constantly change. The pistol has an amazing fire rate and damage amount, meaning that players can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time.
Unfortunately, this pistol is only obtainable by characters with the Kid Stuff Trait (however, console commands can spawn it into the game). To obtain it, players must complete the quest "One Small Step" and then speak to their father. He will give them this unique pistol, which is based on a modern pistol rather than the sci-fi weapons in the game.

This is the best laser rifle in the game, and with its stats, that isn't hard to imagine. The gun boasts some amazing mods already on it when it is obtained. Additionally, its Legendary Traits are Frenzy (a small chance of having enemies attack each other), Radioactive (a small chance to demoralize enemies, making them run away), and Instigating (deals double damage to enemies with full health).
Starfield: Best Ship Weapons
Not even the prettiest ship in Starfield will make it far if it's not armed with the best guns the Settled Systems have to offer.
The downside to this weapon is how players can obtain it. To get the weapon, players must side with the Emissary during the quest "Unearthed" and then kill the Hunter. This means that they will miss out on the weapons that are first and second on this list. However, they can choose to go against both Starborn, leading to them obtaining this weapon and the one at number one, but they cannot get the second-best weapon.

Despite its appearance, this gun is one of the best shotguns available in the game. One reason it is so amazing is that it has 8 mod slots, which can be very helpful in the long run. These mods can increase the mag size, range, and accuracy, making it a weapon that can truly take down any opponent that comes the player's way. Additionally, it has the Explosive effect, which will randomly switch to explosive rounds.
This gun is another gun that is pretty easy to get, meaning that players could potentially get it earlier than other weapons on the list. In order to obtain it, players will need to head to the Neon Tactical shop in Neon. This city is found on the planet of Volii Alpha within the Volii Star System. It will cost around 20,000 Credits (depending on the player's Commerce Skill).
2 The Last Priest
An Amazing Melee Weapon

Melee
This weapon is, hands down, the best melee weapon in the game. Considering the weapon's base damage (90 Physical Damage), it is no wonder that this weapon is ranked among the best. Additionally, it has the Elemental effect. This is an interesting effect that randomly deals corrosive, radiation, poison, and incendiary damage, meaning that it will do a ton of different damage types.
How Starfield Making House Va'ruun Joinable Could Have Changed The Story
Starfield has several factions, including House Va'ruun, and having the ability to join this group would have changed the story significantly.
As mentioned earlier, this weapon is obtained by siding with the Hunter during the "Unearthed" quest. This means that players will need to kill the Emissary, allowing them to get this and the best weapon in the game, but missing out on the Unmitigated Violence gun. If players decide not to side with either, they will miss the quest given by the Hunter to obtain this weapon, meaning they must side with him.

This weapon is not only the best Particle Beam Rifle, but also arguably the best weapon in the game. It has the Legendary Effects of Handloading (rounds that will deal more damage but can fail), Skip Shot (every fourth shoots two bullets), and Anti-Personnel (this grants +10% more damage to human enemies). These effects, paired with the gun's stats, make it something that can easily shred through enemies.
To obtain this weapon, players will need to side with the Hunter during the "Unearthed" quest and then kill the Emissary. While this is a hard choice to make, the fact that players will get this and the best melee weapon in the game makes it quite worth it. Players can also refuse to side with either and kill them both; however, they won't get The Last Priest (the best melee weapon). Whatever decision players make, they will want to think about this weapon.
