An ambitious new Starfield mod is transforming the recent Shattered Space DLC into an unofficial Star Wars game set during the reign of the Sith Empire. Just like most of Bethesda’s RPG offerings, Starfield is home to a passionate modding community that alters the game’s source code to create all kinds of interesting crossovers. Fittingly enough, a great deal of these are inspired by major sci-fi properties like Dune, Halo, and Mass Effect.

It should come as little surprise that Star Wars is on that list as well, and there are already plenty of impressive Starfield mods that bring elements of the Galaxy Far, Far, Away into Bethesda’s massive sci-fi RPG. From adding classic Star Wars vehicles like Luke Skywalker’s trusty X-34 Landspeeder from A New Hope to introducing the iconic lightsabers as a weapon, the blockbuster Star Wars franchise has been a rich and fitting source of inspiration for Starfield modders looking to recreate their favorite movie moments.

The introduction of Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion back in September has only given these modders more to work with, and one NexusMod user is remaking the DLC into a fully-fledged Star Wars prequel. DeityVengy, whose previous Starfield mods include one that morphs the base game into an unofficial tie-in for The Mandalorian, is currently working on Star Wars - Sith Empire Shattered Space Conversion. It uses previous Star Wars mods to overhaul the DLC into an adventure set at the height of the Sith Empire’s power - a time of tyranny set long before the events of the Star Wars movies.

Starfield Mod Transforms Shattered Space into the Sith Empire

The mod is still being worked on and updated, but in its current form, it gives the player a variety of Star Wars armors to wear into battle and reskins NPCs into the various forces of the Sith Empire. It also replaces Starfield’s planet Va'ruun'kai with Korriban, the ancient Sith homeworld featured in games like Knights of the Old Republic. Other location changes include Dazra becoming the Sith settlement Dreshdae and the Dazra Outskirts morphing into the Valley of the Dark Lords that Yoda once journeyed to in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

DeityVengy hopes to completely rewrite Shattered Space’s story and character dialogue into an original Star Wars tale and insert a Sith Temple where players can battle dangerous bosses like Fallen Jedi, Sith Ghosts, and Sith Apprentices. The user’s past Starfield mods have massively transformed the game into a playable version of the Galaxy Far, Far Away, so it will be interesting to see what Star Wars - Sith Empire Shattered Space Conversion looks like when it is completed.
