  • Their facility also doubles as the vessel's observation deck, thus boasting a breathtaking view.
  • This impressive feat of in-game engineering relied on a handful of Starfield mods.

One Starfield player has recently taken the time to equip their ship with a super cozy bar, among many other well-thought-out amenities. The final result of their design efforts extends the list of impressive Starfield ships that the game's fandom constructed since the galaxy-hopping RPG hit the market in September.

Although the player reactions to Starfield have so far been somewhat mixed, even some of the game's fiercest critics praised it for its intricate shipbuilding mechanics enabling the creation of a near-infinite assortment of custom spacecraft. This feature has so far captivated many a fan, prompting numerous players to spend countless hours designing some absolutely awe-inspiring vessels, ranging from flying Starfield chickens to authentic recreations of Star Wars ships.

Starfield Players Report Game-Breaking Ship Bug

Some Starfield players take to social media to report an unusual ship bug that breaks the game in a number of unexpected ways.

And while many such engineering endeavors have so far been solely focused on nailing specific exterior designs, some players are just as eager to spend time customizing the interiors of their spacecraft. That demographic also includes Reddit user DeadlySkillz87, who has recently gone through the effort of creating a gigantic ship equipped with a wide range of amenities, including a cozy bar. The custom facility has enough seating for eight people, thus being spacious enough to accommodate the maximum number of ship crew members that Starfield players can have in the vanilla version of the game.

That said, this impressive ship amenity was actually put together on a modded version of the game, with DeadlySkillz87 revealing they leveraged the DerreTech Starfield mod by Nexus Mods user DerekM17x in order to turn their vision into reality. DerreTech extends the ship builder with the introduction of some extra control options, like allowing players to flip habs in four directions instead of the default two. Secondly, the mod includes some additional habs and other types of ship parts that can be used for designing in-game vessels.

One of those extra modules arrives in the form of a customizable observation deck, which DeadlySkillz87 used as the basis for constructing their space bar. As a result, their facility boasts an absolutely breathtaking view, while some carefully positioned indoor foliage makes it feel cozy and welcoming. Aside from DerreTech, the player also relied on a handful of other Starfield mods while building their ship bar, including LuxZg's B.A.S.E. And Kaoru's Plentiful Outposts.

Although mimicking this particular feat of spacecraft design is hence only possible on PC for the time being, that won't necessarily be the case forever. On the contrary, if Bethesda's track record is any indication, the console version of Starfield is likely to eventually receive limited access to community mods. But before that happens, the studio first needs to finalize the game's Creation Kit, which is scheduled to release in early 2024.
