Bethesda has revealed the new Update 1.15.214 for Starfield, which is already available for beta testers on Steam, but it may take a while to reach all gamers. The new Starfield update introduces some new features and fixes many bugs as Bethesda continues to polish its popular open-world space game.

Originally released in 2023, Starfield gained mostly positive reviews from critics at launch. Players were more divided about the title, though, as some loved the open-world space exploration game, while others criticized how empty the universe was. Since the launch, Bethesda has been coming up with a few updates for Starfield, slowly but steadily improving the overall experience of the RPG.

Now, Bethesda has unveiled Update 1.15.214, which is only available for gamers who opt to participate in Starfield’s Steam Beta. The update comes with a few new features, including a Very Low mode, which will improve performance on lower-end PCs. Most of the new features are related to the Creation Kit, however. One change adds the ability for Creators to add new icons to the game, and the other allows creations of up to 2GB in size to be uploaded. Aside from this, the update fixes many glitches, ranging from different areas like gameplay, graphics, quest design, and more. To download the update, gamers need to open their Steam Library, right-click on Starfield, select “Properties,” then “Betas” in the new pop-up window, “beta” in the next option, and just wait for the download.

While the update is far from as significant as the one that brought the REV-8 vehicle to Starfield, for example, it is a pretty good addition for gamers. Not only is increased support for mods always good, but the update fixes dozens of bugs, greatly improving the experience.

Unfortunately, Update 1.15.214 has not yet brought more actual content to Starfield. Back in March, Bethesda teased that more Starfield content would come in 2025, stating that the team was already working on more features. At the time, Bethesda did not go into detail about what these new features would be, though.

It’s also expected that Starfield will release for PS5 sometime in 2025. Multiple rumors have been indicating that Bethesda is currently porting the game, and that it’s possible that the port could be released together with the upcoming Starfield expansion, which still does not have an official release date. In any case, gamers should take these rumors with a grain of salt and wait for the official announcement.
