Starfield gives players many solutions to resolve missions. Many situations can be defused by choosing to persuade someone instead of fighting. When players speak with characters they will occasionally see unique speech options in brackets tied to their background and skills. These speech checks can change the course of a mission for better or worse. Neuroamps are implants that gamers can equip to their character.
The implants can only be found in a few of the shadier places in Starfield. This guide will show players where to buy them and how to equip them to their character. Neuroamps will not make companions angry, but they are morally ambiguous in the way they manipulate characters.
Neon
Players will have to journey to Neon with Walter Stroud during the main storyline. This area has cyberpunk vibes and can be found in the Volii System. Newill's Goods is a shop on the main strip of the Neon Core. Newill sells a few Neuroamps from time to time along with general goods.
Head down the street to the large Ryujin Tower to find Aito Suzuki past the lobby and to the right. Ryujin is the company that makes the Neuroamps and is also part of a side mission involving corporate espionage. Aito will always have every type of Neuroamp for sale.
The Key
Zuri carries a few Neuroamps in her shop located on The Key. This is the Crimson Fleet's main stronghold. The only way for players to gain access is by completing the Rook Meets King side mission.
Equipping Neuroamps
There are three types of Neuroamps with three sets of strengths. Each effect can appear during persuade attempts as a speech option. Players will also be able to scan certain characters and press A to use the social function of the amp on them. Open the inventory to equip them just like any other piece of apparel. They will appear as small tech devices on the character's face.
The Neurocom has the Diplomacy effect. This will calm characters down during persuasion attempts and get them to flee when scanning.
- Neurocom Mark I: +5% Diplomacy Chance
- Neurocom Mark II: +10% Diplomacy Chance
- Neurocom Mark III: +15% Diplomacy Chance
The Neurotac amps carry the Instigation effect. This will get characters angry in conversations to start a fight and can cause NPCs to fight when using the social function.
- Neurotac Mark I: +5% Instigation Chance
- Neurotac Mark II: +10% Instigation Chance
- Neurotac Mark III: +15 Instigation Chance
Neuroboost amps have a chance to Intimidate NPCs. This will make them back down during persuade attempts and flee during fight with the social function.
- Neuroboost Mark I: +5% Intimidation Chance
- Neuroboost Mark II: +10% Intimidation Chance
- Neuroboost Mark III: +15% Intimidation Chance
