There's something special about StarRupture and its base-building style, similar to games like Factorio and Satisfactory. Choosing the optimal place to construct your base is key to the long-term strategy that will carry players to the dangerous endgame in this challenging survival builder.
This guide will help players pick one of the four best locations to create a long-term settlement in Arcadia-7. Be it that they are a seasoned group of players looking to construct an impressive farming base, or solo players that are ready to take on the challenge of StarRupture by themselves, this information will help them locate a niche of critical resources that will fill all their buildcraft needs.
Best Places To Build A Base In StarRupture
Taking the Landing Pod (Orbital Lander) as a point of origin, we will trace down four locations that are in one of the mid-challenge areas, which can be easily accessed early and offer access to most of the critical resources of the game: Food, Water (Plant Ingredients), Titanium, Wolfram Steel, Calcium, Helium-3, Quartz, and Sulfur.
Hill Base By The Lake
With access to Water, Food, Calcium, and near other critical resources like Helium, Titanium, and Sulphur, this base build on the mid-eastern region of Arcadia-7 can become a nice place to settle. Player will save lots of time (and building materials) and have relatively few Vermin nests to deal with in the area. To the northeast, there are Wolfram and Titanium nodes.
Monoliths are a bit far, and there's another advantage: this Base is next to a Geo Scanner, so surveying the surrounding area will be easy. The nearby lake provides a constant source of Hydro Bulbs for water, as well as the precious Prism Herb that is required for high-end consumables. The nearby Underground Caves also have lots of Quartz and Glowcaps that will come in handy in the late game.
Trench Base For Turret Defense
Protected by a natural trench formed between rock walls, this Trench Base has access to the two basic resources: Titanium and Wolfran, plus a Helium-3 deposit between these two metal nodes. Calcium and Sulfur are relatively close, so building a Railway to deliver resources from adjacent bases is also a possibility. There's also a Quartz deposit next to the Titanium node.
The nearby lake provides water, and food is also nearby, so players will not worry soon about depleting their resources. There's a monolith nearby, so players need to be careful when it activates, since it will call forth waves of Vermin that will try to destroy and infect their bases. There are plenty of Serpent Root in the area, a critical consumable ingredient that players will surely need by the heaps (used to make Energy Boost Capsules).
The Reach Base
The Reach is the mid part of the journey in Arcadia-7, and StarRupture players will come to this zone after leaving the starting area and heading north-east. This place is blooming with life, including Vermin, and the dangerous Goliaths, so be careful. Fortunately, it is also brimming with resources such as Sulphur, Helium-3, Calcium, and basically everything players need to build the perfect base.
It's the perfect spot to build a long-term place. Unfortunately, it has its cons: The proximity of Vermin nests makes it an extremely difficult place to tame if you are a solo player. But a group of four friends playing together will have no problem dominating the zone and setting up a defensive perimeter to protect the base. The increased yield of critical resources is worth the trouble.
Easy Access EndGame Base
A west from The Reach and overlooking a river, there's a decent spot to build an Endgame Base. With access to every resource, except Sulphur, which needs to be mined from a node west of the mountain overlooking the plateau where players can build a fantastic base. Riddling every border of the canyon with Defensive Turrets will simplify dealing with the Vermin waves.
Quartz, Titanium, and Calcium are abundant in the zone, and there's even a huge Helium-3 Deposit nearby, which means players will have a constant supply of all basic resources to craft everything in the game. Plus, its central location makes it a perfect spot to hide away from Waves as players explore the surrounding Caves and abandoned settlements.
