While StarRupture is currently only in early access, there are plenty of corporation missions to complete, structures to build, and resources to craft. The map's also pretty beefy, too, meaning you'll have plenty to go and explore while you aim to further improve the efficiency of your base and resource production. But the fun won't stop there. Developer Creepy Jar has now revealed its roadmap, outlining the ongoing improvements and content drops coming in early access, and what will make up the 1.0 release. Here's everything you need to know about the StarRupture early access roadmap.

Everything on the StarRupture Early Access Roadmap
Currently, developer Creepy Jar has broken down what's expected to arrive in the game's early access period into four distinct sections:
- Ongoing Improvements
- Features
- Content
- Quality of Life
At the time of writing, nothing outlined on the roadmap has a date or version number tied to it. As such, it's currently unclear what will arrive first and how long players will need to wait for the first drop. Regardless, here's what's been outlined in each section.
Ongoing Improvements
While StarRupture is currently pretty stable and many of its mechanics and systems work well, developer Creepy Jar still feels there's room for improvement in the following areas as they work towards a 1.0 release.
- Game Performance
- Building Mechanics
- Combat Mechanics
- World
- UI/UX
For the most part, it's clear what improvements in some of these areas may look like. Minor tweaks to control systems, menus, or balancing would all fall under these. What remains a little unclear is what ongoing improvements we could see to the world itself. This might relate to the world having more hidden secrets, such as cave systems or dead bodies, or it might just mean an improvement to the visual fidelity of Arcadia-7.
Features
These are the features that Creepy Jar intends to add during the early access period, including some hotly-requested ones from the fanbase so far, including controller support, custom game mode options with adjustable difficulty, and new building features and combat mechanics.
- Wildlife
- Custom Game Mode Options (with adjustable difficulty)
- A New Way to Travel on the Map Between Bases
- Codex (Encyclopedia)
- Controller Support
- New Building Features
- New Combat Mechanics
- New Exploration Mechanics
While there is currently no word on Steam Deck compatibility being a focus of the StarRupture early access roadmap, it could come as part of the controller support. Creepy Jar's previous game, Green Hell, is Steam Deck verified, so it seems likely that this will come at some point in the future.
Content
When it comes to the content announced on the early access roadmap, it's all fairly straightforward. It can be distilled down to 'more of everything that's already there.' This should give players who complete everything in this initial release a reason to return when future updates drop.
- Expanded Map
- Additional Corporation Levels & Rewards
- New Weapons
- New Resources
- New Buildings
- New Forgotten Engine
- New Locations and Points of Interest
- Additional Story Elements
Quality of Life
Finally, there are a number of Quality of Life changes outlined on the early access roadmap to help improve the game's overall playability for all players.
- Cargo Dispatcher/ Receiver Rework
- Co-Op Game Balance
- Accessibility Options (improved keybinding)
- Accessibility Options (subtitle options, adjustable text size)
- Dedicated Servers
What's Coming in StarRupture's 1.0 Release?
As part of the early access roadmap, Creepy Jar also hinted at some major additions coming as part of the 1.0 version.
- Frost Wave
- New Biome
- End Game
- More Story Elements
- Achievements
Frost Wave is arguably the most interesting, suggesting that, alongside the standard heatwave from a rupture that players currently experience in the game, we might also see a rather chilly alternative coming. For now, we'll have to wait and see how all this pans out.
