Top-down shooter 12 Is Better Than 6 is currently free to claim on Steam, thanks to its first-ever 100% discount. Steam users have until November 13 to take advantage of the newly launched deal.

Developed by Russia-based Ink Stains Games, 12 Is Better Than 6 is a top-down Western shooter with a distinctive hand-drawn art style. Its title references an old U.S. Saying—"it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6"—meaning it is preferable to face a jury of 12 due to one's actions than be dead and carried by half a dozen pallbearers due to one's inaction. November 20 will mark the tenth anniversary of the game's Steam release.

Epic Games Store Reveals $57 Worth of Free Games for November 13 [UPDATED]

The Epic Games Store reveals $57 worth of free games for its November 13 giveaway, while allowing users to claim a couple of freebies in the meantime.

12 Is Better Than 6 Is Free on Steam for the First Time Ever

On November 11, 12 Is Better Than 6 became free to claim on Steam. The promotional offer is running until Thursday, November 13, at 30am PST / 1pm EST / 7pm CET. Regularly priced at $9.99, the Steam top-down shooter has seen plenty of discounts over the years, occasionally dropping as low as $0.99. However, this mid-November promotion marks the first time ever that 12 Is Better Than 6 has been offered completely free of charge on Valve’s digital storefront.

As is often the case with Steam freebies involving titles with downloadable content, this particular offer applies only to the base game. The shooter's sole story DLC, The Apostles, must be purchased separately. However, it's presently available for $0.99, 80% off its regular price, thus offering $4 worth of savings. That puts it just above its all-time low of $0.49, a price it hasn’t reached since 2023. The DLC sale will be live until November 24.

More PC Freebies Are Currently Available

PC gamers currently have several other freebies to claim. The Epic Games Store has been giving away macabre puzzler Felix The Reaper since November 6, with that offer being set to expire on the 13th. The platform's weekly giveaway also includes Nixie's Champions of Renown Bundle Pack for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, a Codenamed Entertainment-developed incremental game based on Dungeons and Dragons. Earlier this week, OneShift, Bulb Boy, and Will Glow the Wisp were all available to claim on Steam as part of separate promotions that have since ended.

Looking ahead, the next date that deal hunters will want to circle on their calendars is November 13, when the Epic Games Store will start giving away ScourgeBringer, Songs of Silence, and Zero Hour. Valued at nearly $60 combined, the trio will be available to claim until November 20.
