Steam is giving away a special Game Profile bundle for free, featuring an animated avatar, an avatar frame, and more. The Points Shop lets Steam users spend their earned points on thematic cosmetics for their profiles. This time, however, players won't need to spend a dime to decorate their accounts with unique items.
For those unfamiliar, Valve's storefront features a loyalty program called Steam Points, which rewards users with a special currency. The more a user spends on the app, the more points they receive. These points can be spent in the Points Shop, which has received more attention from Valve in Steam's recent overhauls and redesigns. Most items available there include stickers, backgrounds, and other digital goods representing characters or themes from popular Steam games.
Steam Testing New Discovery Feature
Steam is testing out a new feature that could make it easier for users to find and be aware of new game releases they may be interested in.
Special Immersive Storylines Game Profile Is Free on Steam
While most bundles on Steam's Points Shop require thousands of points to unlock, the storefront is currently giving away one called Immersive Storylines. The Game Profile bundle celebrates the festival of the same name, which began on October 21 and runs through November 3. As the name suggests, the festival focuses on narrative-driven games and visual novels with immersive storytelling. The themed bundle includes five golden cosmetic items, such as an animated film reel avatar. Although it's unclear how long the Game Profile will remain free, the promotion will likely end alongside the festival on November 3.

At the start of the festival, a glitch on Steam's end caused the Immersive Storylines Game Profile to appear among the paid bundles in the Points Shop. The issue has since been fixed, and all players can now claim it regardless of their Steam point balance. Those who can't find the bundle should click the Browse button in Steam's updated navigation bar, then head to the Points Shop section. From there, they should go to the Game Profile tab and look for the golden-themed bundle titled Immersive Storylines.
It's also worth checking out the games featured in the festival. Many of Steam's most popular visual novels and immersive sims are currently discounted, with some dropping to very affordable prices. The festival also highlights several live-action interactive movies, such as Love Is All Around and Breakout 13. However, players should note that the Immersive Storylines Game Profile isn't directly tied to the festival and can be claimed without making any purchases or visiting the event page.
