An update to Steam's database seems to all but confirm the PC release of PS5 exclusive Returnal. PlayStation has been consistently displaying its commitment to bringing some of its well-known exclusive titles to PC. Recently, the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection became available on Steam and Epic, giving PC users a chance to play through the final chapters of Nathan Drake's story. While the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection may not have reached the player count of God of War or Marvel's Spider-Man on PC, Sony still seems committed to releasing its exclusive games on the platform.

Of course, this leads a lot of gamers to wonder which title will be available on PC next, and a lot of speculation pointed towards the PS5 exclusive roguelike Returnal coming to the platform. The first clue that Returnal was coming to PC was in a Steam listing for a title codenamed "Oregon," which was suspected to at least be related to the game due to some localization strings referencing in-game locations. Then, in September, some graphics menus leaked for Returnal on PC, showing a multitude of options for players to pick from.

Now, a new update made to the entry for "Oregon" has added Returnal to the database. While this edit was removed a few hours later, plenty of screenshots of the listing were taken, pointing to the game coming to PC. As it hasn't yet been officially confirmed that Returnal will be available on PC, fans shouldn't get too excited just yet, but it does seem from this evidence and the previous leaks that there's a strong chance it could be on the way.

For those who haven't yet had a chance to play it, Returnal puts the player in control of Selene Vassos, a pilot who is left stranded on the alien planet Atropos. Vassos is stuck in a time loop, which explains the player being able to respawn every time they die. Returnal developer Housemarque has consistently added improvements to the game since its release in early 2021. In the Ascension update for Returnal, for example, players were able to play cooperatively and take on the Tower of Sisyphys in a survival mode.

Returnal has received a lot of praise since it first released, and so it would make sense for Sony to capitalize on the game's reputation by bringing out a PC version. This year, Returnal received a multitude of awards, including taking home the BAFTA for best game.

Returnal is available for PlayStation 5.
