Developer Shift Up recently revealed that its action-adventure title Stellar Blade has sold over three million units since its launch early last year. The new numbers follow the PC release of Stellar Blade, which has been greatly successful.

Stellar Blade was originally released solely for the PS5 in 2024, where it was a big hit, selling over a million units in its first two months. While somewhat controversial when it was released, Stellar Blade received mostly positive reviews and obtained an average critic score of 82 on OpenCritic. On June 11, Stellar Blade was finally released for PC, something eagerly awaited by the fanbase, as the port offers support for DualSense controllers, Nvidia DLSS 4 resolution scaling, AMD FSR 3 support, and more.

Now, Shift Up has revealed that Stellar Blade has sold over three million units, a huge milestone for the popular title. This impressive number is related to the game’s recent port, as Stellar Blade sold over a million units for PC in only three days. The title also took less than 24 hours to surpass 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, making it the second title published by Sony to exceed the mark on the platform, following Helldivers 2. Overall, Stellar Blade’s PC version has received generally positive reviews, and the port has access to unofficial mods via platforms such as Nexus Mods, which has likely influenced its popularity on the new platform.

Stellar Blade Has Sold Over Three Million Copies

Shift Up’s action game has been so popular that the developer has already confirmed a Stellar Blade sequel. According to recent company presentations, Shift Up has several projects in the works, including a “platform expansion” for Stellar Blade. However, the most noteworthy aspect of the presentation is that a sequel to Stellar Blade could come out in 2026. In any case, this possible release date should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when considering how lengthy game development times have been in recent years.

Before the sequel, however, it’s possible that gamers will see the release of Shift Up’s upcoming Project Spirits. Labeled as an “Eastern fantasy” game, Project Spirits will be a new flagship title for the Korean developer. At the time of the announcement, one picture of the title was shared, depicting two female characters with anime aesthetics, one with dark hair holding a blade, and the other with pink hair and glasses. Not much is known about the project, however, with some fans speculating that Project Spirits could be a gacha game similar to Destiny Child, which ended support in 2023.
