The director behind the upcoming Stellar Blade has revealed the amount of costumes available to wear, with 30 in total being unlockable in-game. Stellar Blade is releasing on April 26, with many gamers keeping their eyes on it after its re-reveal in 2023. Its developer, Shift Up, is making its debut as a high-end console developer with Stellar Blade, with the game garnering attention for its sci-fi setting and its characters. The protagonist of Stellar Blade, Eve, has been a hot topic of discussion ever since the game's reveal.
Stellar Blade's protagonist is a character who is tasked with saving humanity from extinction due to the presence of wrecked machines known as the Naytiba. A lot of early comparisons that gamers made involved Nier Automata, as both games feature a cybernetic action heroine who is tasked with saving the world, along with a similar hack-and-slash gameplay style. Like Nier Automata, Stellar Blade also features accessories and costumes that can be found in-game.
Stellar Blade Developers Paid ‘Special Attention’ to Eve’s Backside
Stellar Blade's developer reveals that special focus was placed on one of the protagonist Eve's physical attributes.
In an interview with Push Square, Stellar Blade's director, Hyung-Tae Kim, was asked about the customization options in the game. Kim states that there are around 30 different costumes to find, with all of them acquirable through gameplay. These can be found through exploration, completing a quest, or purchasing them in the in-game store. A handful of these costumes and hairstyles were shown in the January State of Play Stellar Blade trailer, which includes a golden top with jeans, a red dress, and a bunny-themed hoodie.
How Many Costumes Are in Stellar Blade?
- Around 30 Costumes are attainable.
- These costumes can be found in-game without needing additional purchases.
Kim also says players can earn different hairstyles or accessories to wear in Stellar Blade, such as glasses and earrings. He also emphasizes that players won't need to make any additional purchases to acquire these costumes. That said, Stellar Blade does have some pre-order exclusive bonuses, which include additional cosmetics like a special suit, glasses, and earrings, along with an early start with extra money and EXP. Stellar Blade players can still get the other costumes without needing to pre-order the game.

Kim was also asked about how the developers went about designing the heroine, which led to discussion about how Stellar Blade's Eve was based on South Korean model Shin Jae-eun. Kim stated that Shift Up was looking to create the "most attractive looking" body for the character, which is why they pursued working with Jae-eun, and that she was a good reference. This statement does match up with Shift Up's past works, like Nikke, which had a deliberate focus on character designs with physical appeal. Players can look forward to dressing up Eve in the various costumes that Shift Up designed for Stellar Blade.
